Zee TV was the largest gainer among the Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) within the week ended 1 May, due to its latest weekend property, ‘Fear Files’. The channel, however, lagged behind Life OK to occupy the No. four spot.
As per BARC data for Week seventeen, ‘Fear Files’ opened on Saturday with 5.two TVRs and a reach of 11.eight per cent. Time spent per viewer (TSV) was 26.four minutes. The Sunday episode of the show also fetched four.six TVRs with a reach of 10.five per cent and a TSV of 26.three minutes.
On the fiction front, Zee TV’s top-rated show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ saw a spurt in its viewership. The show clocked a median TVR of 5.four, compared to 4.9 TVR within the previous week. Zee TV’s other shows, ‘Qubool Hai’, ‘Satrangi Sasural’, and ‘Doli Armanon Ki’ conjointly saw increase in viewership and the channel added forty GRPs (gross rating points).
Star Plus gained twenty eight GRPs on the back of a sturdy fiction line-up. Six of its properties rated among the prime 10 fiction shows of the week because it stayed because the No. 1 Hindi GEC.
The channel’s newest show, ‘Piya Rangrezz’ (Monday–Friday, 9 pm), launched within the week, opened with a pair of.3 TVRs. It ended the week with a mean of one.6 TVRs. Prime Non-fiction shows Whereas Zee TV’s ‘Fear Files’ topped, Colors occupied the next two positions within the non-fiction slot.
Different versions of Life OK’s crime show ‘Savdhaan India’ continued to be among the week’s top non-fiction shows. For Star Plus, ‘Nach Baliye 7' opened on Sunday with a pair of.39 TVR. It had a reach of 16.four per cent and a TSV of 29.4 minutes.

MUMBAI: Zee TV was the biggest gainer among the Hindi general
entertainment channels (GECs) in the week ended 1 May, thanks to its
latest weekend property, ‘Fear Files’. The channel, however, lagged
behind Life OK to occupy the No. 4 spot.
As per BARC data for Week 17, ‘Fear Files’ opened on Saturday with 5.2
TVRs and a reach of 11.8 per cent. Time spent per viewer (TSV) was 26.4
minutes. The Sunday episode of the show also fetched 4.6 TVRs with a
reach of 10.5 per cent and a TSV of 26.3 minutes.
On the fiction front, Zee TV’s top-rated show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ saw a
spurt in its viewership. The show clocked an average TVR of 5.4,
compared to 4.9 TVR in the previous week. Zee TV’s other shows, ‘Qubool
Hai’, ‘Satrangi Sasural’, and ‘Doli Armanon Ki’ also saw increase in
viewership and the channel added 40 GRPs (gross rating points).
Star Plus gained 28 GRPs on the back of a strong fiction line-up. Six of
its properties rated among the top 10 fiction shows of the week as it
stayed as the No. 1 Hindi GEC.

Colors, the second ranked Hindi GEC, incurred a drop of 25 GRPs as its
entire fiction line-up, excluding ‘Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi’, saw a drop
in average viewership.
At the third place was Life OK with a gain of 11 GRPs. The channel’s
newest show, ‘Piya Rangrezz’ (Monday–Friday, 9 pm), launched in the
week, opened with 2.3 TVRs. It ended the week with an average of 1.6
TVRs.

While Zee TV’s ‘Fear Files’ topped, Colors occupied the next two
positions in the non-fiction slot.

Star Plus had a TSV of 222 minutes, followed by Colors with 176 minutes,
Life OK with 156 minutes, Zee TV with 148 minutes, SAB at 133 minutes,
SET at 107 minutes and &TV at 64 minutes.
Meanwhile, uncertainty over whether BARC would release the TV viewership
data on Wednesday prevailed in the morning. The Ministry of Information
and Broadcasting (MIB) had asked BARC to refrain from releasing the
data till it gets registered with the ministry. Talks continued with the
MIB officials. Then BARC CEO Partho Dasgupta tweeted that the data
would be released by 3 pm.
