1. In a major drive to deal with the serious issue of non-performing assets running into lakhs of crores of rupees, the Reserve Bank of India gave option to the banks to take over management control of the stressed assets/enterprise by converting almost dead loans into equity. Unveiling a new Strategic Debt Restructuring (SDR) Scheme, the apex bank has asked commercial banks to take a tough view of their assets blocked in NPAs.

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने लाखों करोड़ रुपये की गैर निष्पादित आस्तियों (एनपीए) की समस्या से निपटने के लिए बड़ी पहल की। आरबीआई ने बैंकों को मुश्किल में पड़ी संपत्तियों या कंपनियों के कर्ज को इक्विटी में परिवर्तित करके उनका प्रबंधन हाथ में लेने का विकल्प दिया है। केंद्रीय बैंक ने एक नई स्ट्रैटेजिक डेब्ट रीस्ट्रक्चरिंग (एसडीआर) स्कीम की शुरुआत करके बैंकों से एनपीए में फंसी संपत्तियों पर कड़ा रुख अपनाने के लिए कहा। 

2. A senior Indian diplomat has been appointed by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon as the head of an UN agency that serves as the training arm of the United Nations system. Nikhil Seth will be the Executive Director of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), succeeding Sally Fegan-Wyles of Ireland. Seth, who holds a Master degree in Economics from Delhi University, is currently the Director of the Division for Sustainable Development, Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA).

संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव बान की मून ने एक वरिष्ठ भारतीय राजनयिक को संयुक्त राष्ट्र की एक एजेंसी का प्रमुख बनाया है जो कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र प्रणाली की प्रशिक्षण इकाई के तौर पर काम करती है। निखिल सेठ युनाइटेड नेशंस इंस्टीट्यूट फॉर ट्रेनिंग एंड रिसर्च (यूएनआईटीएआर) के कार्यकारी निदेशक होंगे। वह आयरलैंड निवासी सैली फेगन वाइल्स का स्थान लेंगे। सेठ ने दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय से अर्थशास्त्र में स्नातकोत्तर की डिग्री प्राप्त की है। वह वर्तमान में आर्थिक एवं समाजिक मामलों (डीईएसए) के विभाग के तहत आने वाले सतत विकास प्रभाग के निदेशक हैं।

3. Former CBDT Chairman K.V. Chowdary has been appointed the Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) of the country. He is the 1978 batch officer of Indian Revenue service. Besides this, T.M. Bhasin, former Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Bank, has been appointed as Vigilance Commissioner. Both Chowdary and Bhasin have been appointed for a term of four years from the date on which they enter upon their office or till they attain the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. Vijay Sharma (former environment secretary) has been appointed as country's new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC).

के.वी. चौधरी को देश का नया केंद्रीय सतर्कता आयुक्त (सीवीसी) नियुक्त किया गया है। 1978 बैच के भारतीय राजस्‍व सेवा के अधिकारी के.वी. चौधरी केंद्रीय प्रत्‍यक्ष कर बोर्ड (सीबीडीटी) के पूर्व चेयरमैन हैं। इसके अलावा इंडियन बैंक के पूर्व सीएमडी टी.एम. भसीन को सतर्कता आयुक्‍त नियुक्‍त किया गया है। इन दोनों का कार्यकाल पदभार संभालने से अगले चार साल तक के लिए या 65 साल की उम्र (जो भी पहले हो) तक होगा। विजय शर्मा (पूर्व पर्यावरण सचिव) देश के नए मुख्य सूचना आयुक्त (सीआईसी) बनाए गए हैं।

4. Senior IPS officer R.C. Tayal has been appointed as the new chief of National Security Guard (NSG). The 1980-batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre officer is at present serving as the Special Director General in paramilitary CRPF. He is expected to serve as NSG DG till August next year when he is scheduled for superannuation. The post fell vacant after incumbent chief J.N. Choudhury retired on May 31.

वरिष्ठ आईपीएस अधिकारी आर.सी. तायल को राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा गार्ड (एनएसजी) का नया प्रमुख नियुक्त किया गया है। तायल 1980 बैच के असम-मेघालय कैडर के अधिकारी हैं। इस समय वह केन्द्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल (सीआरपीएफ) में विशेष महानिदेशक के पद पर तैनात हैं। उनके अगले साल अगस्त तक एनएसजी के महानिदेशक पद पर रहने की उम्मीद है। जे.एन. चौधरी के 31 मई को सेवानिवृत्त होने के बाद से एनएसजी प्रमुख का पद रिक्त था। 

5. India has imposed anti-dumping duty ranging from $180 to $316 per tonne for some industrial-grade stainless steel imported from China, Malaysia and South Korea in a bid to stem surging imports and protect the domestic industry. The anti-dumping duty have been imposed for five years.

चीन, मलेशिया और दक्षिण कोरिया से आयात होने वाले कुछ इंडस्टि्रयल-ग्रेड स्टेनलेस स्टील पर भारत ने एंटी-डंपिंग ड्यूटी लगाई है। यह 180 डॉलर से 316 डॉलर प्रति टन के दायरे में है। बढ़ते आयात और घरेलू उद्योग को बचाने के उद्देश्य से यह कदम उठाया गया है। एंटी-डंपिंग ड्यूटी पांच साल के लिए प्रभावी रहेगी।

6. The Manila-based Asian Development Bank (ADB) has appointed Diwakar Gupta of India as Vice-President for Private Sector and Co-financing Operations, and Bambang Susantono as Vice-President for Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development. Gupta succeeds Lakshmi Venkatachalam. Susantono succeeds Bindu Lohani.

मनीला-आधारित एशियाई विकास बैंक (एडीबी) ने भारत के दिवाकर गुप्ता को निजी क्षेत्र और को-फाइनेंसिंग ऑपरेशन का उपाध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया है। साथ ही बैमबैंग सुसांतोनो को सतत विकास और ज्ञान प्रबंधन का उपाध्यक्ष बनाया गया है। गुप्ता ने लक्ष्मी वेंकटचलम का स्थान लिया है। सुसांतोनो ने बिंदु लोहानी का स्थान लिया है।

7. US President Barack Obama nominated Syria envoy Daniel Rubinstein as the next ambassador to Tunisia, a sign of the North African country's growing strategic importance.

अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बराक ओबामा ने सीरिया के राजदूत डैनियल रुबिनस्टाइन को ट्यूनीशिया के अगले राजदूत के रूप में नामित किया। यह उत्तर अफ्रीकी देश के बढ़ते सामरिक महत्व का संकेत है।

8. Spain's club Barcelona FC has won 2015 Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League trophy for the fifth time in Club Football. In the summit clash played at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany they defeated Juventus FC by 3-1 goals. Ivan Rakitic had first scored goal for Barcelona in the fourth minute and later Luis Suárez restores at 68 minute and Neymar scored the goal in extra time. 

क्लब फुटबॉल में खेले गए सबसे बड़े मुकाबले में स्पेन के क्लब बार्सिलोना एफसी ने 2015 यूनियन ऑफ यूरोपियन फुटबॉल एसोसिएशन (यूईएफए) चैंपियस लीग जीती। बर्लिन, जर्मनी में ओलंपिआस्टेडिएन में खेले गए फाइनल में बार्सिलोना ने जूवेंटस एफसी को 3-1 से हराकर पांचवी बार चैंपियस लीग का खिताब अपने नाम किया। बार्सिलोना के लिए पहला गोल इवान रैकिटिक ने किया। लेकिन 68वें मिनट में लुई सुआरेज़ ने और फिर मैच के आख़िर में नेमार ने गोल किया।

9. Two leading Indian power firms will build several plants in Bangladesh to produce upto 4,600 megawatts of electricity at a cost of 28426 crore rupees to ease the country's prolonged power crisis. Reliance Power Ltd. and Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) signed a MoU to develop four units of power plants to produce 3,000 MW of electricity with a cost of $3 billion. Adani Power and BPDB signed a separate MoU to set up two coal-fired plants with a total capacity of 1,600 MW that will cost more than $1.5 billion.

बांग्लादेश में लंबे समय से चले आ रहे बिजली संकट को दूर करने के लिए दो भारतीय कंपनियां 28426 करोड़ रुपए की लागत से 4600 मेगावॉट बिजली का उत्पादन करने हेतु बांग्लादेश में कुछ संयंत्र बनाऐेगी। रिलायंस पावर लिमिटेड और बंग्‍लादेश पावर डेवलपमेंट बोर्ड (बीपीडीबी) ने करीब 3 अरब डॉलर की लागत से 3000 मेगावाट क्षमता की ऊर्जा का उत्पादन करने के लिए ऊर्जा संयत्र की चार इकाईयों को विकसित करने का अनुबंध किया है। अदानी पावर और बीपीडीबी ने एक अलग समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए जिसके तहत वे $1.5 बिलियन से अधिक की लागत वाले 1,600 मेगावाट की कुल क्षमता वाले दो कोयला आधारित संयंत्र स्थापित करेंगे।

10. Former IAS officer and Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr. Mahesh Neelkanth Buch who was widely regarded as the architect of modern Bhopal, passed away following a brain stroke in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. He was 80. 

पूर्व आईएएस अधिकारी और पद्म विभूषण से सम्मानित डॉ. महेश नीलकंठ बुच का निधन हो गया है। बुच को मॉर्डन भोपाल का आर्किटेक्ट कहा जाता है। उनकी मृत्यु भोपाल, मध्य प्रदेश में ब्रेन हैमरेज के कारण हुई। वह 80 वर्ष के थे।
