1. Prominent scientist Ameenah Gurib Fakim sworn in as President of Mauritius, becoming the first women to hold the ceremonial position in the Indian Ocean island nation. She succeeds Former President Kailash Purryag who resigned from office on 30th May. Gurib-Fakim, 56, is the first female President of the island, which gained independence from Britain in 1968 and replaced Britain's Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state in 1992. 

प्रसिद्ध वैज्ञानिक अमीना गरीब फाकिम ने मॉरिशस के राष्‍ट्रपति पद की शपथ ली। 56 वर्षीय फाकिम हिन्‍द महासागर स्थित इस द्विपीय देश में शीर्ष पद पर आसीन होने वाली पहली महिला हैं। उन्होंने पूर्व राष्‍ट्रपति कैलाश पुर्याग का स्थान ग्रहण किया है जिन्होंने 30 मई को अपने पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया था। मॉरिशस को 1968 में ब्रिटेन से आजादी मिली थी और वहां 1992 में राष्‍ट्राध्‍यक्ष के तौर पर महारानी एलिजाबेथ द्वितीय की जगह अपना राष्‍ट्रपति नियुक्‍त किया गया था।

2. India and the Netherlands signed several agreements to deepen bilateral cooperation. The agreements were signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Netherland Mark Rutte in New Delhi. Mark Rutte is on a two day visit to India on 5-6 June 2015. Agreement on setting up Joint Working Group on Counterterrorism, which will hold its first meeting on 19 June 2015 was signed between India and Netherlands. Agreements on manufacturing of dredgers at the Cochin Shipyard and on developing coastal roads and metro lines in India, etc. were also signed.

भारत और नीदरलैंड के प्रधानमंत्री क्रमशः नरेंद्र मोदी और मार्क रुट की अध्यक्षता में द्विपक्षीय सहयोग को और सुदृढ़ करने के लिए नई दिल्ली में कई समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किये गये। मार्क रुट 05-06 जून 2015 तक भारत की दो दिवसीय यात्रा पर हैं। भारत और नीदरलैंड के बीच आतंकवाद के उन्मूलन हेतु संयुक्त कार्य समूह जिसकी पहली बैठक 19 जून 2015 को आयोजित की जाएगी के गठन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए। कोचीन शिपयार्ड में निकर्षण पोत का निर्माण तथा भारत में तटीय सड़कों और मेट्रो लाइनों के विकास, आदि पर भी हस्ताक्षर किए गए। 

3. Togo`s President Faure Gnassingbe has named Selom Klassou as the country’s new prime minister after winning elections in April. Klassou, the first vice-president of the National Assembly and former sports and primary education minister, succeeds K.S. Ahoomey-Zunu, who resigned his post on May 22.

अप्रैल में चुनाव जीतने के बाद टोगो के राष्ट्रपति फौरे गनसिंगबे ने सेलोम क्लासोउ को देश का नया प्रधानमंत्री नामित किया है। नेशनल असेंबली के प्रथम उपाध्यक्ष तथा पूर्व खेल और प्राथमिक शिक्षा मंत्री क्लासोउ ने के.एस. अहूमे-ज़ूनू का स्थान लिया है जिन्होंने 22 मई को अपने पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया था।

4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bangladesh on 6th June for a two-day tour. He was received at the airport by his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina. PM Narendra Modi is accompanied by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee. Banerjee would witness the signing of documents on Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) that will be exchanged between the two countries.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी दो दिवसीय यात्रा के लिए 6 जून को बांग्लादेश पहुंचे। उनकी बांग्लादेशी समकक्ष शेख हसीना ने हवाईअड्डे पर उनका स्वागत किया। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के साथ पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी भी ढाका पहुंची हैं। भूमि सीमा समझौते (एलबीए) के दस्तावेजों पर बनर्जी की उपस्थिति में हस्ताक्षर किए जाऐंगे जिनका आदान-प्रदान दोनों देशों के बीच होगा।

5. India's IT major Infosys appointed Board member R. Seshasayee Non-Executive Chairman in place of K.V. Kamath, who is set to take over as head of the ‘New Development Bank’ (NDB) of the BRICS group in July and resigned from the post with immediate effect.

भारत की प्रमुख सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी कंपनी इंफोसिस ने आर. सेशासयी को गैर-कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया है। हाल ही में ब्रिक्स देशों के ‘न्यू डेवलपमेंट बैंक’(एनडीबी) के पहले अध्यक्ष नियुक्त होने वाले के.वी. कामथ के पद से तत्काल प्रभाव से इस्तीफा देने के बाद उन्हें यह जिम्मेदारी दी गई है। 

6. Diversified conglomerate Essel Group has formed a 50:50 joint venture (JV) with the Rajasthan government to set up India's biggest solar energy park in the state. The solar parks will be set up in Bikaner and Jaisalmer regions with an investment of Rs. 4,000 crore. Essel Group and Rajasthan government inked an agreement to set up solar energy park in the state. Essel Group and the government of Rajasthan will hold a 50:50 stake in the JV company, Essel Saurya Urja Company of Rajasthan Ltd (ESUCRL) which will develop solar parks that would produce 5000 MV of clean energy.

डायवर्सिफाइड एस्सेल समूह ने राजस्थान में देश का सबसे बड़ा सोलर एनर्जी पार्क लगाने के लिए राजस्थान सरकार के साथ 50:50 हिस्सेदारी वाला संयुक्त उद्यम बनाया है। देश के इस सोलर एनर्जी पार्क की स्थापना करने पर 4,000 करोड़ रुपए का निवेश होगा। इस पार्क को बीकानेर और जैसलमेर क्षेत्र में बनाया जाएगा। एस्सेल समूह ने राज्य में सोलर एनर्जी पार्क स्थापित करने के लिए राजस्थान सरकार के साथ समझौता किया है। एस्सेल समूह और राजस्थान सरकार की संयुक्त उद्यम राजस्थान लिमिटेड की एस्सेल सूर्य ऊर्जा कंपनी (ईएसयूसीआरएल) में 50:50 की हिस्सेदारी होगी जो 5000 मेगावॉट की स्वच्छ ऊर्जा का उत्पादन करने वाले सोलर पार्क विकसित करेगे।

7. American sprinter Justin Gatlin cruised to victory in the men`s 100 metres at the Rome Diamond League meet. Gatlin, the 2004 Olympic champion who served a four-year doping ban in 2006-2010 for using testosterone, stopped the clock at 9.75sec.

अमेरिकी धावक जस्टिन गैटलिन रोम डायमंड मीट में पुरुषों की 100 मीटर दौड़ में जीते। 2004 के ओलिंपिक चैंपियन गैटलिन पर टेस्टोस्टेरोन का उपयोग करने के लिए 2006-2010 में चार साल का डोपिंग प्रतिबंध लगा था। उन्होंने दौड़ में 9.75 सेकेंड का समय निकाला।

8. India’s first of its kind Tier-I Oil Spill Response Centre (OSRC) for Mumbai Port Trust (MBT), Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) and ONGC’s facilities at Nhava and Uran (Maharashtra) was inaugurated. It was inaugurated by Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Shipping, Nitin Gadkari to tackle pollution and oil spills in and around Mumbai.

मुंबई पोर्ट ट्रस्ट (एमबीटी), जवाहरलाल नेहरू पोर्ट ट्रस्ट (जेएनपीटी) और ओएनजीसी केंद्रों के लिए भारत का अपनी तरह का पहला टीयर-1 ऑयल स्पिल रेस्पॉन्स सेंटर (ओएसआरसी) न्हावा और उरण (महाराष्ट्र) में उद्घाटित किया गया। मुंबई में और उसके आस-पास प्रदूषण और तेल रिसाव से निपटने के लिए सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग एवं जहाजरानी मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने इसका उद्घाटन किया।

9. England and County team Somerset's wicketkeeper/batsman Craig Kieswetter announced to retire due to an eye injury. South Africa-born player was left with vision problems after breaking his nose and damaging his cheekbone while batting in a County Championship match against Northamptonshire in July 2014. He scored 497 runs in the domestic T20 Blast in 2014. He started his one day international carrier in the year 2010 against Bangladesh. 

इंग्लैंड और काउंटी टीम सोमरसेट के विकेटकीपर/बल्लेबाज क्रेग कीस्वेटर ने आंख में चोट के कारण क्रिकेट से संन्यास की घोषणा की। कीस्वेटर जुलाई 2014 में नॉर्थम्पटनशर के खिलाफ काउंटी चैम्पियनशिप मैच के दौरान बल्लेबाजी करते समय बाउंसर गेंद पर घायल हो गए थे। उसमें उनकी नाक, आंख और गाल की हड्डी में चोट आई थी और उनकी दृष्टि भी प्रभावित हुई थी। दक्षिण अफ्रीका में जन्में कीस्वेटर ने वर्ष 2014 में घरेलू टी-20 ब्लास्ट में 497 रन बनाए थे। उन्होंने बांग्लादेश के खिलाफ वर्ष 2010 में अपने एकदिवसीय अंतरराष्ट्रीय करियर की शुरुआत की थी। 

10. Senior IAS officer Narendra Bhooshan was appointed as Mission Director, National Food Security Mission (NFSM). Bhooshan, a 1992 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, is Joint Secretary in Department of Agriculture and Cooperation. He has been appointed to the post of Mission Director in NFSM upto July 10, 2016. The NFSM was launched in October 2007 and it envisages additional production of 25 million tonnes of food grains during 12th Five Year Plan (2012-17).

वरिष्ठ आईएएस अधिकारी नरेंद्र भूषण ने राष्ट्रीय खाद्य सुरक्षा मिशन (एनएफएसएम) के मिशन निदेशक के रूप में पदभार संभाला। भूषण वर्ष 1992 के उत्तर प्रदेश कैडर के आईएएस अधिकारी हैं, वे कृषि सहयोग विभाग में संयुक्त सचिव के पद पर कार्यरत हैं। वे इस पद पर 10 जुलाई 2016 तक बने रहेंगे। एनएफएसएम की शुरुआत अक्टूबर 2007 में हुई थी। इसने 12वीं पंचवर्षीय योजना (2012-17) के दौरान 25 मिलियन टन अतिरिक्त खाद्यान्न उत्पादन की परिकल्पना प्रस्तुत की है। 

11. Fortune released the 61st edition of list of top 500 companies. These Fortune 500 companies account for 12.5 trillion US dollar in revenues, 945 billion US dollar in profits, 17 trillion US dollar in market value and employ 26.8 million people worldwide. The list was topped by retail behemoth Walmart with revenue of 485.6 billion US dollar. It was followed by Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Berkshire Hathaway and Apple at the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th position respectively. The top five of 2015 list remains unchanged as compared to the 2014 list.

फॉर्च्यून ने शीर्ष 500 कंपनियों की सूची के 61वें संस्करण का विमोचन किया। इन फॉर्च्यून 500 कंपनियों का राजस्व 12.5 ट्रिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर, लाभ 945 बिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर, बाजार मूल्य 17 ट्रिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर है तथा विश्वभर में 26.8 लोगों को रोजगार देती हैं। सूची में 485.6 बिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर के राजस्व के साथ खुदरा प्रमुख वॉल-मार्ट ने शीर्ष स्थान प्राप्त किया। उसके बाद 2वें, 3वें, 4वें और 5वें स्थान पर क्रमश: एक्सॉन मोबिल, शेवरॉन, बर्कशायर हैथवे और एप्पल हैं। 2014 की सूची की तुलना में 2015 की सूची के शीर्ष पांच अपरिवर्तित हैं।

12. Union Minister of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Uma Bharti launched nationwide Jal Kranti Abhiyan (campaign) from Jaipur, Rajasthan. The aim is to consolidate water conservation and management in the country through a holistic and integrated approach involving all stakeholders, making it a mass movement. 

जल संसाधन, नदी विकास और गंगा कायाकल्प मंत्री उमा भारती ने जयपुर, राजस्थान से राष्ट्रव्यापी जल क्रांति अभियान का शुभारंभ किया। इसका उद्देश्य सभी हितधारकों को शामिल करते हुए एक समग्र और एकीकृत दृष्टिकोण के माध्यम से देश में पानी के संरक्षण और प्रबंधन को मजबूत करना है ताकि यह एक जन आंदोलन बन सके।
