1. AIADMK supremo J. Jayalalithaa sworn in for the fifth time as Tamil Nadu chief minister, nearly eight months after she was forced to quit over corruption charges. Governor K. Rosaiah gave oath to Jayalalitha. Jayalalithaa will hold the portfolios of home, police, public, all India services, general administration and district revenue officers​.

अन्नाद्रमुक सुप्रीमो जे. जयललिता ने पांचवीं बार तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में शपथ ली। भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों को लेकर सत्ता छोड़ने के लिए बाध्य हुयीं जयललिता ने करीब आठ महीने बाद तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री पद के लिए शपथ ली। राज्यपाल के. रोसैया ने जयललिता को शपथ दिलाई। जयललिता के पास गृह, पुलिस, लोक, आम प्रशासन, अखिल भारतीय सेवाएं और जिला राजस्व अधिकारी आदि विभाग होंगे।

2. Councillor Parvinder Singh Batth has been chosen as Wokingham Borough Council's New Mayor for 2015-16, the first Sikh to hold the position. He has most recently served as Deputy Mayor.

भारतवंशी पार्षद परविंदर सिंह बट्ट 2015-16 के लिए ब्रिटेन के वोकिंघम बरो परिषद के महापौर चुने गए हैं। वह इस पद पर आसीन हुए पहले सिख हैं। वह हाल ही में उप महापौर के रूप में सेवारत थे।

3. Aiming to attract overseas funds, government decided that investments by non-resident Indians (NRIs), overseas citizens of India (OCIs) and persons of Indian origin (PIOs) will now be treated as domestic investment. They will not be allowed to repatriate the money overseas. The cabinet approved amendments to FDI policy on investments by NRIs, PIOs & OCIs. This will give PIOs & OCIs parity with NRIs in economy and education.

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्‍यक्षता वाली केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने एनआरआई (नॉन रेजिडेंट इंडियंस), पीआईओ (पर्सन ऑफ इंडियन ओरीजन) और ओसीआई (ओवरसीज सिटीजन ऑफ इंडिया) के लिए विदेशी प्रत्‍यक्ष निवेश (एफडीआई) के नियमों को आसान बनाने का फैसला किया। उनके द्वारा किए गए निवेश को अब घरेलू निवेश माना जाएगा। कैबिनेट के इस निर्णय से पीआईओ और ओसीआई को आर्थिक और शैक्षिक क्षेत्रों में निवेश के मामले में एनआरआई के बराबर अधिकार मिलेगा।

4. NRI billionaire Lakshmi Mittal-led ArcelorMittal partnered PSU giant SAIL to set up an automotive steel plant with an estimated Rs. 5,000 crore investment, taking a fresh shot at entering India after nearly a decade-long wait for its earlier projects to take off. The proposed JV will construct a state-of-the-art cold rolling mill and other downstream finishing facilities in India that will offer technologically advanced steel products to India’s rapidly growing automotive sector.

एनआरआई अरबपति लक्ष्‍मी मित्‍तल के नेतृत्‍व वाली आर्सेलर मित्‍तल भारत में 5,000 करोड़ रुपए के निवेश से एक ऑटोमोटिव स्‍टील प्‍लांट की स्‍थापना करेगी। इसके लिए कंपनी ने सरकारी कंपनी स्‍टील अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया (सेल) के साथ संयुक्‍त उपक्रम बनाने का समझौता किया है। आर्सेलर मित्‍तल ने भारत में प्रवेश करने का यह कदम दस साल बाद उठाया है। प्रस्‍तावित संयुक्‍त उपक्रम के तहत भारत में स्‍टेट-ऑफ-दि-आर्ट कोल्‍ड रोलिंग मिल और अन्‍य डाउनस्‍ट्रीम फि‍नीशिंग सुविधाओं की स्‍थापना की जाएगी। यह स्‍टील प्‍लांट भारत के तेजी से विकसित हो रहे ऑटोमोटिव सेक्‍टर को तकनीकी रूप से आधुनिक स्‍टील उत्‍पादों की आपूर्ति करेगा।

5. India's Srinivasan Kannan and Dr. B.K. Nayak have been appointed chairmen of the Asian Hockey Federation's Media & Communication Committee and Medical Committee, respectively. Kannan is a journalist with 28 years of experience and is currently the sports editor of Mail. Nayak is known for his vast experience as the doctor of the national hockey team.

6. Gujarat government and Chinese software firm ZTEsoft have entered into an agreement for smart city projects in the state. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in Shenzhen during visit of Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Ben Patel with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to China. Government of India has approved seven smart cities in Gujarat.

गुजरात सरकार ने राज्य में स्मार्ट सिटी परियोजना के लिए चीन की साफ्टवेयर कंपनी जेडटीई सॉफ्ट के साथ एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी के साथ गुजरात की मुख्यमंत्री आनंदी बेन पटेल की चीन यात्रा के दौरान शेनजेन में सहमति पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर किया गया था। भारत सरकार ने गुजरात में सात स्मार्ट शहरों को मंजूरी दी है।

British Sports business magazine 'SportsPro' has named Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli as the six most marketable athlete of this year ahead of the likes of sprint king Usain Bolt and football superstars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The monthly magazine, which reports on the business and financial aspects of sports across the world, has placed 26-year-old Kohli just a rung below British Formula One reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton while Brazilian football superstar Neymar was named second most marketable sportsperson. Another Indian, World No. one shuttler Saina Nehwal has been placed at 44. 21-year-old Canadian tennis player Eugenie Bouchard topped the 50-athlete list.

8. Kamalpreet Singh has improved upon his hammer throw national record with an effort of 72.86m while finishing third at the Tuscon Elite Classic in Arizona, United States. Kamalpreet, representing as an unattached athlete, came up with his best throw in his first of the six attempts at the University of Arizona at Tuscon. Kamalpreet's effort was the third best this season so far among Asian hammer throwers.

9. After partnering with Amazon and Paytm, the government-owned ticketing portal IRCTC has partnered with Mydala.com to provide deals and offers to customers. The partnership will give travelers access to the best deals and offers while booking their tickets. With this partnership Mydala will have access to IRCTC’s two crore registered users. The deals offered to IRCTC users span across various categories including Food & Drinks, clothing, beauty & fitness and recreation deals.

सरकार के स्वामित्व वाली टिकट पोर्टल आईआरसीटीसी ने अमेजन, पीटीएम के बाद अब माईडाला डॉट कॉम के साथ साझेदारी करने की घोषणा की। यह स्टार्टअप विभिन्न श्रेणियों में ‘डील्स ऐंड ऑफर्स’ पेशकश करती है। इसके माध्यम से आईआरसीटीसी पर टिकट बुक करने वालों को ऑफर्स की पेशकश की जाएगी। इससे माईडाला को बड़ी संख्या में यूजर्स मिलेंगे। माईडाला खाद्य एवं पेय, परिधान, ब्यूटी और फिटनेस सहित कई श्रेणियों में ऑफर्स की पेशकश करती है।
