1. World no. 1 Novak Djokovic captured his fourth Rome Masters Tennis title with a convincing 6-4,6-3 win over Roger Federer. Extending his winning streak to 22 matches, Djokovic proved too consistent and too quick for Federer.

दुनिया के नंबर 1 खिलाड़ी नोवाक जोकोविच ने रोजर फेडरर को 6-4, 6-3 से हराकर अपना चौथा रोम मास्टर्स खिताब जीता। इस जीत के सात जोकोविच ने इंडियन वेल्स, मायामी, मोंटे कार्लो और रोम सभी प्रकार के टूर्नामेंट में अपनी 22वी जीत हासिल करी।

2. An 18-year-old Indian-American boy has won the prestigious Intel Foundation Young Scientist Award in the US for inventing a device that quickly shuts down undersea oil spills. Karan Jerath of Friendswood, Texas, claimed USD 50,000 top prize at this year's Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (IISEF). 

भारतीय मूल के 18 वर्षीय एक अमेरिकी छात्र ने अमेरिका में प्रख्यात इंटेल फाउंडेशन यंग साइंटिस्ट अवार्ड जीता है। समुद्र में तेल के फैलने को शीघ्रता से रोकने के उपकरण का आविष्कार करने को लेकर उसे यह पुरस्कार मिला है। टेक्सास स्थित फ्रेंड्सवुड के करन जेराथ ने इस साल के इंटेल अंतरराष्ट्रीय विज्ञान एवं इंजीनरिंग मेले में 50,000 डॉलर का शीर्ष पुरस्कार जीत लिया। 

3. Narendra Modi, the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Mongolia, held wide-ranging talks with his counterpart Chimed Saikhanbileg following which the two sides inked 14 agreements covering defence, cyber security, agriculture, renewable energy and health sector.

नरेंद्र मोदी मंगोलिया की यात्रा पर जाने वाले भारत के प्रथम प्रधानमंत्री बन गए हैं। नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपने समकक्ष चिम्ड सेखनबिलेग से वार्ता को बाद 14 समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए। इन समझौतों में रक्षा, साइबर सुरक्षा, कृषि, नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा और स्वास्थ्य जैसे क्षेत्र शामिल हैं।

4. To help Indian and Chinese corporates in cross-border businesses, top private sector lender ICICI Bank opened its first branch in China. Based in Shanghai, China's biggest city and a major global financial hub, the new branch would begin with 17 banking professionals handling different functions including corporate banking, operations, finance and treasury.

निजी क्षेत्र के शीर्ष बैंक आईसीआईसीआई बैंक ने चीन में अपनी पहली शाखा खोली। इससे भारत और चीन की कंपनियों को सीमापार व्यापार में मदद मिलेगी। चीन के सबसे बड़े शहर शंघाई स्थित इस शाखा में बैंक 17 अधिकारियों के साथ काम की शुरुआत करेगा। इसमें कॉरपोरेट बैंकिंग, परिचालन, वित्त और कोषागार समेत विभिन्न प्रकार का काम होगा। 

5. Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Limited (IL&FS) Group entered into memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) to facilitate co-operation in the area of infrastructure financing in India. Under the MoU, ICBC group will consider providing financial support of up to $1 billion equivalent to the IL&FS group. These funds will be directed towards infrastructure development requirements and related investments of the Group.

इंफ्रास्‍ट्रक्‍चर लीजिंग एंड फाइनेंशियल सर्विसेस लिमिटेड (आईएलएंडएफएस) ग्रुप ने इंडस्ट्रियल एंड कॉमर्शियल बैंक ऑफ चाइना (आईसीबीसी) के साथ भारत में इंफ्रास्‍ट्रक्‍चर फाइनेंशिंग क्षेत्र में वित्‍तीय मदद उपलब्‍ध कराने के लिए समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्‍ताक्षर किए हैं। इस समझौते के तहत आईसीबीसी ग्रुप 1 अरब डॉलर की वित्‍तीय मदद आईएलएंडएफएस ग्रुप को उपलब्‍ध कराएगा। इस राशि का उपयोग ग्रुप के इंफ्रास्‍ट्रक्‍चर डेवलपमेंट्स जरूरतों और संबंधित निवेश में किया जाएगा।

6. The government has bettered its targets for fiscal deficit and revenue deficit for the year ended March. The ministry has pegged fiscal deficit for 2014-15 at 4% of the gross domestic product (GDP) against 4.1% provided in the budget. Likewise, revenue deficit is pegged at 2.8% of the GDP as against the revised estimate of 2.9% of GDP.

नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार की वित्तीय स्थिति को मजबूत करने की प्रतिबद्धता की दिशा में उठाए गए ठोस कदमों के कारण वित्त वर्ष 2014-15 के दौरान राजकोषीय घाटा सकल घरेलू उत्पाद (जीडीपी) के 4.1% अनुमान की तुलना में घटकर 4% प्रतिशत रहा है। इसी तरह, राजस्‍व घाटा भी 2.8 फीसदी पर सीमित रहा है, जबकि बजट में पिछले वित्‍त वर्ष के लिए इसका लक्ष्‍य 2.9 फीसदी रखा गया था।

7. India announced a US $1 billion credit line to Mongolia for infrastructure development as they upgraded their ties to “Strategic Partnership” and agreed to deepen defence cooperation besides exploring potential for tie ups in areas like the civil nuclear sector.

भारत ने मंगोलिया को उसके बुनियादी ढांचा विकास में सहयोग के लिए 1 अरब डॉलर की ऋण सुविधा की घोषणा की। वहीं, दोनों देशों के बीच अपने संबंधों को ‘रणनीतिक साझेदारी’ के स्तर तक ले जाने और असैन्य परमाणु क्षेत्रों में संभावना तलाशने के अलावा रक्षा सहयोग मजबूत करने पर भी सहमति बनी।

8. Indian golfer Ajeetesh Sandhu finished the PGM MNRB Sarawak Championship as he carded three-over 75 to share the 33rd spot in the $55,400 Asian Development Tour (ADT) event.

भारतीय गोल्फ खिलाड़ी अजितेश संधू एशियन डेवलपमेंट टूर के 55,400 डॉलर इनामी राशि वाले पीजीएम एमएनआरबी सारावाक चैम्पियनशिप में 33वां स्थान ही हासिल कर सके। चैम्पियनशिप के आखिरी दौर में अजितेश ने तीन ओवर में 75 का स्कोर हासिल किया।

9. As India pressed China to open its markets for Indian IT firms, technology major Infosys announced establishing its first overseas centre outside India in China with an investment of about $120 million to tap in the burgeoning Chinese market. An MoU in this regard was signed between Infosys and the local Chinese provincial government at the India-China Business Forum.

भारत की ओर से चीन पर सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी उत्पादों के लिये बाजार खोलने का दबाव बनाये जाने के बीच प्रमुख आइटी कंपनी इन्फोसिस ने करीब 12 करोड डालर के निवेश से भारत के बाहर चीन में अपना पहला विदेशी केंद्र खोलने की घोषणा की ताकि चीन के तेजी से विकसित होते बाजार का लाभ उठाया जा सके। इस संबंध में इन्फोसिस और चीन की स्थानीय प्रांतीय सरकार ने भारत-चीन व्यवसायिक मंच में एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किये।
