1. Bangalore-based company GMR Infrastructure has inked an agreement with Guizhou International Investment Corp (GiIC), a consortium of three Chinese manufacturing firms, to set up units at its special economic zones (SEZs) in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The move will see $3.5 billion worth of investments from the Chinese companies over the next five years. GiIC signed an MoU with Kakinada SEZ (KSEZ), a subsidiary of GMR Infra, to set up an industrial park for high-end Chinese equipment manufacturing companies.

बेंगलुरू की कंपनी जीएमआर इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर ने चीन की कंपनी जीआईआईसी के साथ आंध्र प्रदेश के काकीनाडा में अपने विशेष आर्थिक क्षेत्र (सेज) में इकाइयां स्थापित करने के लिए एक समझौता किया है, जिसमें अगले पांच साल में 3.5 अरब डॉलर निवेश होने की उम्मीद है। जीएमआर इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर लिमिटेड की सहायक इकाई काकीनाडा सेज (केसेज) ने चीन की तीन प्रमुख विनिर्माण कंपनियों के समूह गुइझो इंटरनेशनल इनवेस्टमेंट कॉरपोरेशन (जीआईआईसी) के साथ चीन की अत्याधुनिक उपकरण विनिर्माण कंपनियों के लिए औद्योगिक पार्क स्थापित करने के लक्ष्य के साथ एक सहमति पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर किया है। 

2. South Korea offered to provide $10 billion for infrastructure projects in India, including smart cities railways, power generation and various other sectors as Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with President Park Geun-hye and the two countries decided to elevate their ties to a special 'strategic partnership'. Both sides agreed to increase their defence and security cooperation and also inked seven agreements, including on avoidance of double taxation and for cooperation between their National Security Councils.

दक्षिण कोरिया ने भारत को बुनियादी ढांचा विकास, स्मार्ट शहरों के विकास, रेलवे,बिजली उत्पादन और अन्य विविधीकृत क्षेत्रों के लिए 10 अरब डॉलर की वित्तीय सहायता देने की घोषणा की। इसके साथ ही दोनों देशों ने अपने द्विपक्षीय संबंध का स्तर बढा कर इसे ‘विशेष रणनीतिक भागीदारी’ के स्तर पर पहुंचाने पर सहमति जताई है। दोनों पक्षों ने उनके रक्षा और सुरक्षा सहयोग को बढावा देने पर सहमति जताते हुए सात समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए जिनमें दोहरे कराधान से बचाव और उनके राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा परिषदों के बीच सहयोग से संबंधी करार शामिल हैं।

3. Private sector Federal Bank along with card issuing company SBI Card launched co-branded credit cards. The bank launched two new variants of Visa credit cards-- Platinum and Gold 'N More. Federal Bank SBI Platinum Credit Card with credit limit of Rs. 5 lakh will offer exclusive benefits to customers, especially for fuel payments, dining etc. The credit cards will be chip-based cards providing a high level of security to the cardholders. The Gold card will have credit limit of Rs. 1.75 lakh.

निजी क्षेत्र के फेडरल बैंक ने कार्ड जारी करने वाली कंपनी एसबीआई कार्ड के साथ मिलकर सह-ब्रांड वाले क्रेडिट कार्ड जारी किए। बैंक ने वीजा क्रेडिट कार्ड के दो नए वेरिएंट--प्लेटिनम और गोल्ड 'एन मोर जारी किए। 5 लाख रपये की ऋण सीमा वाले फेडरल बैंक एसबीआई प्लैटिनम क्रेडिट कार्ड से ग्राहकों को विशेष रूप से ईंधन भुगतान, होटल में खाना खाने आदि को लेकर विशेष लाभ मिलेगा। क्रेडिट कार्ड चिप आधारित कार्ड होंगे जो कार्ड धारकों को उच्च स्तर की सुरक्षा प्रदान करेंगे। गोल्ड कार्ड की क्रेडिट सीमा 1.75 लाख रूपए होगी।

4. India announced that it would contribute USD 2.1 million to the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a "reflection" of its commitment to the global health body and its mandate. India will contribute USD 1 million for the proposed WHO Contingency Fund, another USD 1 million for the implementation of identified demonstration projects under the Consultative Expert Working Group (CEWG) Framework. India will contribute another USD 1,00,000 for the member state mechanism on medical products.

भारत ने घोषणा की कि विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन के प्रति अपनी कटिबद्धता और अधिकारक्षेत्र के तहत इस वैश्विक स्वास्थ्य निकाय को वह 21 लाख डॉलर का दान देगा। इसमें 10 लाख डालर डब्ल्यूएचओ आकस्मिक व्यय कोष के लिए, 10 लाख डालर परामर्श विशेषज्ञ कार्य बल के अतर्गत आने वाली योजनाओं के लिए होगा तथा भारत दवा उत्पादों पर सदस्य देश प्रणाली के लिए 1,00,000 डॉलर देगा।

5. Australia wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Haddin has announced his retirement from one-day international cricket. Haddin, 37, will continue to play Test cricket but leaves the ODI arena on the highest possible note, with his farewell appearance a World Cup triumph at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in March. The New South Welshman played 126 ODIs after debuting in January 2001 against Zimbabwe.

ऑस्ट्रेलिया के विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज ब्रैड हैडिन ने एकदिवसीय अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट से संन्यास ले लिया है। 37 साल के हैडिन ने अपने वनडे करियर की शुरूआत जनवरी 2001 में जिंबाब्वे के खिलाफ होबार्ट में की थी। उन्होंने 126 एकदिवसीय अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैच खेले। वह इस साल मार्च में मेलबर्न में न्यूजीलैंड को हराकर विश्व कप जीतने वाली ऑस्ट्रेलियाई टीम का हिस्सा भी थे।

6. Dubai, which boasts of the world's highest tennis court, will also become home to the first underwater tennis centre where spectators can watch games from below or above the sea life through a massive glass dome. Krzysztof Kotala, a Polish architect is working on this ambitious project to make it a reality. Interestingly, the proposed location for the project (arguably one of the world's lowest tennis courts) is just next door to the highest tennis court atop the Burj al Arab skyscraper in Dubai.

दुबई में दुनिया का पहला अंडरवॉटर टेनिस कोर्ट बनेगा जहां दर्शक कांच के बड़े से गुंबद के जरिए समुद्र के भीतर या ऊपर से मैच देख सकेंगे। पोलैंड के आर्किटेक्ट किर्जीजौफ कोताला इस महत्वाकांक्षी परियोजना को मूर्त रूप देने हेतु कार्य कर रहे हैं। इस प्रस्तावित टेनिस कोर्ट (दुनिया का सबसे निचला टेनिस कोर्ट) को दुनिया के सबसे उंचाई पर स्थित टेनिस कोर्ट बुर्ज अल अरब स्कायस्क्रेपर के पास बनाया जाएगा।

7. An 44-year-old Indian-American policeman has been awarded the prestigious "Top Civilian Supervisor of the Year" award for his efficient services to the Houston Police department in the US state of Texas. Harkeert Singh Saini received the award from Police Chief Charles A McClelland And Houston Mayor Anise Parker. Saini, a police records supervisor has been working for the Houston Police department for the last 15 years.

भारतीय मूल के 44 वर्षीय अमेरिकी पुलिसकर्मी को ‘टॉप सिविलियन सुपरवाइजर ऑफ द ईयर’ नामक प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया है। उन्हें यह पुरस्कार अमेरिकी राज्य टेक्सास के ह्यूस्टन पुलिस विभाग में कुशल सेवाओं के लिए दिया गया है। पुलिस प्रमुख चाल्र्स ए मैकक्लीलैंड और ह्यूस्टन के मेयर एनिस पार्कर ने हरकीरत सिंह सैनी को यह पुरस्कार दिया। पुलिस रिकॉडरें के पर्यवेक्षक सैनी पिछले 15 साल से ह्यूस्टन पुलिस विभाग के लिए काम कर रहे हैं।

सेना के पूर्व ब्रिगेडियर डेविड ग्रांगर ने गुयाना के नए राष्ट्रपति के रूप में शपथ ली है। उनके बहुनस्ली विपक्षी गठबंधन ने चुनाव जीतकर दक्षिण अमरीकी देश में एक नए अध्याय की शुरुआत की है। ग्रांगर (69) के एपीएनयू-एएफसी गठबंधन ने हुए चुनाव में जीत हासिल कर सत्तारूढ़ इंडो-गुयानीज पीपीपी पार्टी की सत्ता पर 23 साल पुरानी पकड़ को तोड़ दिया।

9. Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Jagat Prakash Nadda, presided over the 68th Session of the World Health Assembly (WHA) at Geneva as India assumes the Presidency of the WHA, the high decision making body of the World Health Organisation (WHO), after a gap of 19 years. The Union Minister is leading a high level Indian delegation to the WHA, being held in Geneva from May 18-27, 2015.

भारत, विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन की 68वीं विश्व स्वास्थ्य सभा (डब्यू्एचए) का अध्यक्ष निर्वाचित हुआ है। डब्यू्एचए विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) की उच्च निर्णायक निकाय है तथा भारत 19 साल के अंतराल के बाद इसकी अध्यक्षता कर रहा है। इसके तहत भारत के केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्री जगत प्रकाश नड्डा ने जिनेवा में विश्व स्वास्थ्य सभा की 68वीं बैठक की अध्यक्षता की। डब्यूएचए की बैठक 18 से 27 मई 2015 तक जिनेवा में चलेगी।

10. The government has allocated Rs. 5,000 crore for the growth of Department of AYUSH and launched an independent National AYUSH Mission aimed at capacity building for the sector.

सरकार ने आयुष विभाग के विकास के लिए 5000 करोड़ रूपए आवंटित किए हैं और एक स्वतंत्र राष्ट्रीय आयुष मिशन शुरू किया है जिसका लक्ष्य क्षेत्र के लिए क्षमता निर्माण करना है।
