‘Massan’ Indian Movie Won two Awards at Cannes Film Festival |Richa Chadha as Lead Role

Fly Away Solo (Masaan) is an upcoming Indian drama film directed by Neeraj Ghaywan. The directorial debut film is an Indo-French co-production produced by Manish Mundra, Macassar Productions, Anurag Kashyap’s Phantom Films, Sikhya Entertainment, Arte France Cinema and Path Productions. The film stars Richa Chadda, Sanjay Mishra, Vicky Kaushal, Shweta Tripathi.

Neeraj Ghaywan’s directorial debut ‘Masaan’ not only saw a standing ovation but also picked up two awards at the 68th Cannes Film Festival this year. The film premiered at the festival and picked up International Jury of Film Critics prize (FIPRESCI) and Promising Future prize in the Un Certain Regard section. 

Starring Richa Chadda, Sanjay Mishra, Vicky Kaushal and Shweta Tripathi in the lead roles, the film was treated to a five-minute-long standing ovation during its screening.

After winning the award, Chadda tweeted, ““#MasaanAtCannes just got the Fipresci award, given by the international critics. #blessed :-) team, take a bow.”

Ghaywan’s indie project centred on a group of people in Varanasi and follows the stories of four people from a small town and how they fit in to the moralities.

‘Masaan’ is a Indian-French co-production and is produced by Manish Mundra, Macassar Productions, Phantom Films, Sikhya Entertainment and French production company Pathe International.
