1. French thriller film Dheepan has been awarded the top most award the Palme d’Or Award at 68th Cannes Film Festival. The film is directed by Jacques Audiard. Dheepan story revolves around the trio of Tamil refugees from Sri Lanka who pretend to be a family in order to flee their war-torn country to France.

फ्रांसीसी थ्रिलर फिल्म 'धीपन' को 68वें कान्स फिल्म समारोह का शीर्ष पुरस्कार प्रसिद्ध पाल्मे डिओर प्रदान किया गया। यह फिल्म जैक्स ऑडिआर्ड द्वारा निर्देशित है। धीपन की कहानी श्रीलंका से तमिल शरणार्थियों के बारे में है जो उनके युद्धग्रस्त देश को पलायन करके फ्रांस ले जाने हेतु यह दर्शाते हैं कि वे एक परिवार के हैं।

2. Mumbai Indians' (MI's) won the eight edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) and clinched their second IPL title following a crushing 41-run win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a lop-sided summit clash in Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata. Mumbai Indians posted an imposing 202 for five as skipper Rohit Sharma (50) and Lendl Simmons (68) rattled up a 119-run stand off just from 67 balls after being invited to bat.

मुंबई इंडियंस ने इडेन गार्डन्स स्टेडियम में हुए इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (आईपीएल) के आठवें सीजन के खिताबी मुकाबले में चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स (सीएसके) को 41 रनों से हराकर आईपीएल का अपना दूसरा खिताब जीता। मुंबई इंडियंस से मिले 202 रनों के विशाल लक्ष्य का पीछा करते हुए सुपर किंग्स टीम निर्धारित 20 ओवरों में आठ विकेट खोकर 161 रन ही बना सकी।

3. India's Deepa Kumari has been accorded an international outdoor umpire status by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). Deepa, who started her umpiring career in 2010, officiated many domestic tournaments in India. Her international umpiring career includes the recently culminated Hawke's Bay Cup besides the 2013 U-16 Girls Asia Cup.

भारत की दीपा कुमारी को अंतरराष्ट्रीय हॉकी महासंघ (एफआईएच) ने एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय आउटडोर अंपायर का दर्जा दिया है। दीपा ने 2010 में अंपायरिंग कैरियर की शुरूआत की थी और भारत में कई घरेलू टूर्नामेंटों में अंपायर रह चुकी है। हाल ही में हाकेस बे कप में उसने अंपायरिंग की और 2013 में लड़कियों के अंडर 16 एशिया कप में भी अंपायर थी।

4. According to a study conducted by EA Water, a leading consulting firm in water sector India's demand for water is expected to exceed all current sources of supply and the country is set to become water scarce country by 2025. This is due to demand-supply mis-match. With increasing household income and increasing contributions from the service and industrial sectors, the water demand in the domestic and industrial sectors increasing substantially.

जल क्षेत्र में प्रमुख परामर्श कंपनी ईए वाटर के एक अध्ययन के अनुसार भारत में पानी की मांग सभी मौजूदा स्रोतों से होने वाली आपूर्ति के मुकाबले ऊपर चले जाने की आशंका है और देश 2025 तक जल संकट वाला देश बन जाएगा। इसका कारण पानी की मांग एवं आपूर्ति में अंतर है। परिवार की आय बढ़ने तथा सेवा तथा उद्योग क्षेत्र से योगदान बढ़ने के कारण घरेलू और औद्योगिक क्षेत्रों में पानी की मांग में उल्लेखनीय वृद्धि हो रही है।

5. Neeraj Ghaywan's directorial debut "Masaan", which premiered at this year's 68th Cannes Film Festival, has won two top awards-- FIPRESCI, International Jury of Film Critics prize and Promising Future prize in the Un Certain Regard section.

फिल्म निर्देशक नीरज घेवन की फिल्म 'मसान' को 68वें कान्स अंतरराष्ट्रीय फिल्म महोत्सव में दो शीर्ष पुरस्कार -- फिल्म आलोचकों का अंतरराराष्ट्रीय महासंघ, एफआईपीआरईएससीआई पुरस्कार तथा अन सर्टेन रिगार्ड श्रेणी में प्रॉमिसिंग फ्यूचर पुरस्कार प्राप्त हुआ है।

6. Two Indian peacekeepers have been chosen posthumously for United Nation’s Dag Hammarskjold Medal. They are Lance Naik Nand Ram and Raju Joseph. Both of them are among the 126 police, military and civilian personnel who have been posthumously awarded a prestigious UN medal. They have been chosen for this award for their courage and sacrifice while serving in UN peacekeeping operations in 2014 and lost their lives as a result of hostile acts, accidents and disease. Lance Naik Nand Ram had served with the UN Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO). While, Raju Joseph had served in a civilian capacity with the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

दो भारतीयों सहित 126 शांति सैनिकों को साहस और बलिदान के लिए प्रतिष्ठित संयुक्त राष्ट्र मेडल से मरणोपरांत सम्मानित करने हेतु चयनित किया गया है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र के मिशन में डेमोक्रेटिक रिपब्लिक ऑफ द कांगो में काम करने वाले लांस नायक नंद राम और दक्षिण सूडान में काम करने वाले सिविलसेवा कर्मी राजू जोसफ को डैगहैमरशोल्ड मेडल से सम्मानित किया जाएगा। 2014 के दौरान शत्रु की कार्रवाई, दुर्घटना और बीमारी के चलते कुल 126 शांति सैनिकों ने अपनी जान गंवाई थी। इन सभीको संयुक्त राष्ट्र के मुख्यालय में आयोजित एक समारोह में मेडल से सम्मानित किया जाएगा।

7. Indian boxers won a total of seven medals including four gold, one silver and two bronze medals at the Doha International boxing tournament. Commonwealth Games silver medalist L. Devendro Singh (49 kg), Shiva Thapa (56 kg), Manish Kaushik (60 kg) and Manoj Kumar (64 kg) won the gold medals. Gaurav Bidhuri (52 kg) won the silver medal, while Mandeep Jangra (69 kg) and Vikas Krishan (75 kg) bagged bronze medals.

भारतीय मुक्केबाजों ने दोहा अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुक्केबाजी टूर्नामेंट में चार स्वर्ण और एक रजत सहित कुल सात पदक जीते। कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स के रजत पदक विजेता एल. देवेंद्रो सिंह (49 किलो), एशियन गेम्स के स्वर्ण पदक विजेता शिव थापा (56 किग्रा), मनीष कुमार (60 किग्रा) और मनोज कुमार (64 किग्रा) ने स्वर्ण पदक जीते। इनके अलावा गौरव बिधूड़ी (52 किग्रा) ने रजत, जबकि मनदीप जांगड़ा (69 किग्रा) और विकास कृष्णन (75 किग्रा) ने कांस्य पदक जीते।

8. Indian boxers rounded off a thoroughly commendable performance at the AIBA Women's Junior World Championships, clinching three gold and two silver medals on the final day of the event. Savita (50kg), Mandeep Sandhu (52kg) and Sakshi (54kg) struck gold for the country, while Soniya (48kg) and Niharika Gonella (70kg) settled for silver medals.

भारतीय जूनियर महिला मुक्केबाजों ने महिला जूनियर विश्व मुक्केबाजी चैंपियनशिप में शानदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए तीन स्वर्ण और दो रजत सहित कुल पांच पदक जीते। चैंपियनशिप के अंतिम दिन सविता (50 किग्रा), मनदीप संधू (52 किग्रा) और साक्षी (54 किग्रा) ने स्वर्ण पदक जीते। वहीं सोनिया (48किग्रा) और निहारिका (70किग्रा) को रजत पदक से ही संतोष करना पड़ा।

9. G. Mohan Kumar has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Defence (MoD). Mohan Kumar will be in the office for a period of two years and succeeds Radha Krishna Mathur who completes his tenure on 28 May 2015. Kumar is a 1979 batch IAS officer of Odisha cadre.

जी. मोहन कुमार को भारत का रक्षा सचिव नियुक्त गया है। जी. मोहन कुमार 28 मई 2015 को सेवानिवृत्त हो रहे राधा कृष्णा माथुर का स्थान लेंगे। रक्षा मंत्रालय में रक्षा सचिव के रुप में जी. मोहन कुमार की नियुक्ति पदभार संभालने की तिथि से 2 वर्ष की अवधि के लिए की गई है। जी. मोहन कुमार ओड़िशा संवर्ग के 1979 बैच के आईएएस अधिकारी हैं। 

10. John Nash, a Nobel prize winner and Mathematician died, along with his wife, in a traffic crash in New Jersey. He was 86. Nash was awarded the Nobel prize in economics in 1994 for his work on game theory.

नोबल पुरस्कार विजेता और गणितज्ञ जॉन नैश का, उनकी पत्नी के साथ, न्यूजर्सी में एक सड़क दुर्घटना में निधन हो गया। वह 86 साल के थे। नैश को 'गेम थ्योरी' पर किए शोध के लिए 1994 में अर्थशास्त्र का नोबेल पुरस्कार दिया गया था।
