1. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif inaugurated Pakistan's first-ever solar energy project, built with Chinese assistance, a step forward to provide relief to people in the country plagued by perpetual power shortages. Sharif inaugurated the 100 megawatt (MW) unit of Quaid-e -Azam Solar Park in Bhawalpur district of Punjab province.

प्रधानमंत्री नवाज शरीफ ने पाकिस्तान की पहली सौर ऊर्जा परियोजना का उद्घाटन किया जोकि चीन की सहायता से बनायी गयी है। यह कदम देश में लोगों को सतत बिजली की कमी से राहत प्रदान करने के लिए उठाया गया है। शरीफ ने पंजाब प्रांत के बहावलपुर जिले में कायद-ए-आज़म सौर पार्क की 100 मेगावाट (मेगावाट) इकाई का उद्घाटन किया।

2. Union Government has made Permanent Account Number (PAN) mandatory for private firms seeking central excise registration. As per the new rules, the PAN registration will now be given within two days of filing online applications to improve the ease in doing business in manufacturing. In this regard Union Finance Ministry has issued an order that clearly mentions that applicants seeking registration shall mandatorily quote PAN of the proprietor or the legal entity being registered in the application form. However in the new rules, government departments are exempted from the requirement of quoting PAN in their online application.

केंद्र सरकार ने निजी कंपनियों के लिए केंद्रीय उत्पाद शुल्क पंजीकरण को लेकर स्थायी खाता संख्या (पैन) अनिवार्य कर दिया है। विनिर्माण क्षेत्र में काम करने को आसान बनाने के लिए वित्त मंत्रालय द्वारा सरल बनाए गए नियमों के तहत ऑनलाइन आवेदन जमा करने के दो दिन के भीतर पंजीकरण प्रदान कर दिया जायेगा। वित्त मंत्रालय के एक आदेश के अनुसार पंजीकरण चाहने वालों के लिए संबंधित आवेदनकर्ताओं को मालिक या कानूनी इकाई के पैन का उल्लेख अनिवार्य होगा। हालांकी, सरकारी विभागों को ऑनलाइन आवेदन में पैन का जिक्र करने की अनिवार्यता से छूट दी गई है।

3. Rajasthan Government has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Health Mission (NHM), UNICEF and Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) to tackle the severe problem of malnourishment in the state. This MoU will help to implement the state government programme which was announced during the state budget. In this budget the state government had announced that special attention will be given to the children falling out of medical reach in state.

राजस्थान सरकार ने राज्य में कुपोषण की गंभीर समस्या से निपटने के लिए राष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य मिशन (एनएचएम), यूनिसेफ और ग्लोबल एलायंस फॉर इमप्रूवड न्यूट्रीशन (जीएआईएन) के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। यह समझौता ज्ञापन राज्य सरकार के कार्यक्रम को लागू करने में मदद करेगा जिसकी घोषणा राज्य के बजट के दौरान की गयी थी। इस बजट में राज्य सरकार ने घोषणा की थी कि राज्य में जो बच्चे चिकित्सा की पहुँच से बाहर हैं उन पर विशेष ध्यान दिया जाएगा।

4. India's top rifle shooters have won a rich haul of three gold and two bronze medals at the International Shooting Competition of Hannover in Germany. Beijing Games gold medallist Bindra won both the individual and team gold in his pet 10 metre air rifle event. Upcoming talent Chain Singh added the 50 metre men's rifle prone yellow metal to his 10 metre air rifle team gold, which he won alongside Bindra and London Olympics bronze medallist Gagan Narang. The two bronze medals came through Narang in the men's 50 metre rifle 3 positions event and Apurvi Chandela in women's air rifle event.

जर्मनी के हनोवर में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय निशानेबाजी प्रतियोगिता में भारत ने तीन स्वर्ण और दो कांस्य पदक जीते हैं। ओलंपिक स्वर्ण पदक विजेता अभिनव बिंद्रा ने 10 मीटर एयर राइफल स्पर्धा में व्यक्तिगत और टीम दोनों वर्गों में स्वर्ण पदक जीते। चैन सिंह ने 10 मीटर एयर राइफल टीम स्पर्धा का स्वर्ण जीतने के साथ- साथ 50 मीटर पुरुष राइफल प्रोन स्पर्धा में भी स्वर्ण पदक जीता। गगन नारंग ने पुरुषों की 50 मीटर राइफल थ्री पोजिशन स्पर्धा में कांस्य पदक हासिल किया। महिला राइफल निशानेबाज अपूर्वी चंदेला ने महिलाओं की एयर राइफल स्पर्धा में कांस्य पदक जीता।

5. Serbian star Novak Djokovic held on to first place in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world singles men’s rankings with 13,845 points. Swiss legend Roger Federer also maintained second spot with 8,635 points, followed by Scots Andy Murray with 6,120 points and 14-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal of Spain with 5,390 points.

सर्बिया के नोवाक जोकोविक 13,845 अंकों के साथ लगातार 145वें सप्ताह एटीपी पुरुष एकल विश्व रैंकिंग में शीर्ष पर बने हुए हैं। स्विट्जरलैंड के रोजर फेडरर 8,635 अंकों के साथ दूसरे जबकि स्कॉटलैंड के एंडी मरे तीसरे स्थान पर हैं। मरे के खाते में 6,120 अंक हैं। स्पेन के राफेल नडाल 5,390 अंकों के साथ चौथे स्थान पर बने हुए हैं।

6. Top-seeded Switzerland's Roger Federer claimed his 85th title with a 6-3, 7-6 (11) win over Pablo Cuevas in the final of the Istanbul Open Tournament. This is his first Istanbul Open title. The 17-time Grand Slam winner fended off strong resistance from the third-seeded Uruguayan, who saved four match points.

स्विटजरलैंड के दिग्गज टेनिस स्टार रोजर फेडरर ने उरुग्वे के पाब्लो चुवास को हराते हुए इस्तानबुल ओपन टूर्नामेंट का खिताब पहली बार अपने नाम किया। यह उनके करियर का 85वां खिताब है। 17 बार के ग्रैंड स्लैम विजेता फेडरर ने सेमीफाइनल में ग्रिगोर दिमित्रोव को हराने वाले चुवास को सीधे सेटों में 6-3, 6-4 से हराया।

7. France’s Richard Gasquet defeated Australia's Nick Kyrgios to win the Estoril Open Tennis Tournament’s Title. The fifth seeded player Gasquet defeated seventh seeded Kyrgios in the inaugural match with 6-3, 6-2.

फ्रांस के रिचर्ड गास्क्वेट ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया के निक किरगियोस को हराते हुए इस्टोरिल ओपन टेनिस टूर्नामेंट का खिताब जीत लिया। टूर्नामेंट के पांचवें वरीय खिल़ाडी गास्क्वेट ने खिताबी मुकाबले में सातवें वरीय किरगियोस को 6-3, 6-2 से हराया।

8. Deepamale Devi of Karnataka won gold in the women's 20km walk in the 19th Federation Cup National Senior Athletics championship. Deepamale registered a timing of 1:44:29. Sandeep Kaur from Punjab and Priyanka from Uttar Pradesh claimed the second and third positions, respectively.

कर्नाटक की दीपामाले देवी ने 19वें फेडरेशन कप राष्ट्रीय सीनियर एथलेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप महिलाओं की 20 किमी पैदल चाल का स्वर्ण पदक जीता। दीपामाले ने एक घंटा 44 मिनट 29 सेकेंड का समय दर्ज किया। पंजाब की संदीप कौर दूसरे और उत्तर प्रदेश की प्रियंका तीसरे स्थान पर रही।

9. Vasco da Gama secured the Rio de Janeiro state championship for the 23rd time by completing a 3-1 aggregate victory over Botafogo in the final. Having won last week's first leg 1-0, Vasco scored either side of halftime to win the return leg 2-1 at the Maracana stadium.

बोटाफोगो पर फाइनल राउंड में कुल 3-1 की जीत के साथ वास्को डा गामा ने 23वीं बार रियो डी जनेरियो स्टेट चैम्पियनशिप जीत ली। वास्को ने मराकाना स्टेडियम में हुए फाइनल राउंड के दूसरे चरण के मुकाबले में बोटाफोगो को 2-1 से मात दे दी। 

10. Former Union minister and veteran Congress leader Baleshwar Ram died in Patna. He was 87.

पूर्व केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री और कॉंग्रेस नेता बालेश्वर राम का पटना में निधन हो गया। वह 87 वर्ष के थे।
