1. India signed various agreements with Tanzania to extend its cooperation to the country in various sectors, including counter-terrorism, natural gas and maritime security. The MoUs signed also included a loan agreement between Exim Bank and Tanzanian government on a line of credit for US $268.35 million for extension of a pipeline project and cooperation in the field of hydrology, tourism and agriculture. These agreements were signed during the visit of Tanzania's President, H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, to India. This is his second visit to India in 10 years of his leadership.

भारत ने तंजानिया को विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में अपना सहयोग देने हेतु उसके साथ विभिन्न समझौतों, जिनमें आतंकवाद से मुकाबला करने, प्राकृतिक गैस और समुद्री सुरक्षा शामिल हैं, पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। हस्ताक्षरित ज्ञापनों में हाइड्रोग्राफी, पर्यटन और कृषि के क्षेत्र में सहयोग तथा एक पाइपलाइन परियोजना के विस्तार के लिए 268.35 अमेरिकी डॉलर हेतु एक लाईन ऑफ क्रेडिट पर एक्जिम बैंक और तंजानिया की सरकार के बीच एक ऋण समझौता भी शामिल है। इन समझौतों पर तंजानिया के राष्ट्रपति एच.ई. जकाया मृशो किकवेते की भारत यात्रा के दौरान हस्ताक्षर किए गए। यह उनके 10 साल के कार्यकाल के दौरान उनकी दूसरी भारत यात्रा है।

2. India has been ranked third behind Russia and Turkey in a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Report for 2013. Russia has maximum number of dope offenders with 212 testing positive while the figures for Turkey and India were 155 and 91 respectively. France came a close fourth with 90 dope cheats in the report. The comprehensive report, which dealt with testing of 207513 samples, covered 115 nationalities and 89 sports. 

विश्व डोपिंग रोधी संस्था (वाडा) की 2013 की रिपोर्ट में डोपिंग के मामले में भारतीय एथलीट विश्व भर में तीसरे स्थान पर हैं। डोपिंग के मामलों में रूस पहले जबकि तुर्की दूसरे स्थान पर है। इसमें रूस के सबसे अधिक 212 खिलाड़ियों को डोपिंग नियमों के उल्लंघन का दोषी पाया गया। तुर्की के 155 और भारत के कुल 91 एथलीट इसके दोषी पाये गये। फ्रांस इस सूची में चौथे स्थान पर है। इस देश में 90 एथलीट के टेस्ट पाजिटीव पाये गये हैं। इस पूरी रिपोर्ट में 115 देशों के कुल 89 खेलों के लगभग 207513 नमूने शामिल हैं। 

3. Journalist and writer Aakar Patel appointed as Executive Director of Amnesty International (AI) India, London-based global human rights organization. He will head all India operations and its efforts to end human rights abuses in India and worldwide. Patel as the organization’s chief political advisor, strategist and spokesperson will give direction to its goal of being an independent, effective, and deep-rooted organization in India.

पत्रकार और लेखक आकार पटेल को लंदन आधारित वैश्विक मानवाधिकार संस्था एमनेस्टी इंटरनेशनल इंडिया का नया कार्यकारी निदेशक नियुक्त किया गया है। पटेल अखिल भारत संचालन और भारत तथा दुनिया भर में मानव अधिकारों के हनन को समाप्त करने के उसके प्रयासों की अध्यक्षता करेंगे। संगठन के मुख्य राजनीतिक सलाहकार, रणनीतिज्ञ और प्रवक्ता के तौर पर वह एमनेस्टी के भारत में स्वतंत्र, प्रभावी और जड़े मजबूत करने के लक्ष्य को दिशा देने का काम करेंगे।

4. 10th Bharatiya Jnanpith Navlekhan Price was awarded to young writers Babusha Kohli and Upasana. They were recognized for poem "Prem Gilhari Akhrot Dil" and novel "Ek Zindagi Ek Ek Script Bhar" respectively. The awards ceremony was held at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Navlekhan award was established with a goal to award young authors writing in Hindi.

युवा लेखिकाओं, बाबुशा कोहली और उपासना को 10वें भारतीय ज्ञानपीठ नवलेखन पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया। उन्हें क्रमश: कविता 'प्रेम गिलहरी दिल अखरोट' और उपन्यास 'एक जिंदगी एक एक स्क्रिप्ट भर' के लिए यह पुरस्कार दिया गया। पुरस्कार समारोह इंडिया हैबिटेट सेंटर, नई दिल्ली में आयोजित किया गया था। नवलेखन पुरस्कार को हिंदी में लेखने वाले युवा लेखकों को पुरस्कृत करने के लक्ष्य से स्थापित किया गया था।

5. Two Indian-Americans have been appointed to key positions in the Republican party with the mandate to involve community leaders within the party fold. Niraj Antani, a Ohio State legislature, and Janak Joshi, a Colorado State legislature, were appointed to the board of the 2015–2016 Future Majority Project of the Republican Party. The Board is chaired by T.W. Shannon, Chair, former Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

सामुदायिक नेताओं को पार्टी में शामिल करने की अनिवार्यता के तहत भारतीय मूल के दो अमेरिकियों को रिपब्लिकन पार्टी में दो प्रमुख पदों पर नियुक्त किया गया है। ओहायो के विधायक निरज अंटानी और कोलोराडो के विधायक जनक जोशी को ‘2015-16 फ्यूचर मेजोरिटी प्रोजेक्ट ऑफ द रिपब्लिकन पार्टी’के बोर्ड में नियुक्त किया गया है। इस बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष टी.डब्ल्यू. शैनॉन हैं, जो कि ओकलाहोमा प्रतिनिधि सभा के पूर्व स्पीकर और अध्यक्ष हैं। 

6. With the help of fine bowing by international player Praveen Kumar who took 3 wickets on 25 runs, Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC) lifted the 42nd All India Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament 2015 title after getting thrilling win of 3 runs over Air India in the close finished final match played at Ferozshah Kotla ground, Delhi. ONGC scored 194 runs in 40 overs. In reply Air India failed to cross the ONGC total and were all out for 191 runs in 39.5 overs and lost the match. 

अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर के खिलाड़ी प्रवीण कुमार (25 रन पर तीन 3 विकेट) की बेहतरीन गेंदबाजी के कारण फाइनल में ओएनजीसी ने करीबी मुकाबले में एयर इंडिया को 3 रन से हराकर 42वें आल इंडिया गोस्वामी गणोश दत्त मेमोरियल क्रिकेट टूर्नामेंट 2015 का खिताब जीत लिया। दिल्ली में फिरोजशाह कोटला पर खेले गये बेहद करीबी मुकाबले में ओएनजीसी ने 40 ओवरों में 194 रन बनाये। लेकिन आसान लक्ष्य के सामने भी एयर इंडिया 39.5 ओवरों में सभी विकेट खोकर 191 पर मैच हार गयी। 

7. Keith Vaz, Britain's longest-serving Indian-origin MP was re-elected as chair of Parliament's influential Home Affairs Select Committee, even as a controversy rages over his help to scam-tainted former IPL chairman Lalit Modi in obtaining British travel documents. The Leicester East MP had been challenged to the post by fellow Labour MP Fionna McTaggert but the MPs voting for the post decided to keep him in the post. 

ब्रिटेन में भारतीय मूल के सबसे लंबे समय तक सेवा प्रदान करने वाले सांसद कीथ वाज को संसद के गृह विभाग की प्रभावशाली प्रवर समिति का अध्यक्ष ऐसे समय में पुनः चुन लिया गया है जब घोटाले के मामले में फंसे पूर्व आईपीएल प्रमुख ललित मोदी को ब्रिटिश यात्रा दस्तावेज हासिल करने में उनके द्वारा मदद पहुंचाने को लेकर विवाद चल रहा है। लीसेस्टर पूर्व के सांसद वाज को इस पद के लिए उन्हीं की पार्टी की सांसद फियोना मैक टैगर्ट से टक्कर मिली थी लेकिन इसके लिए मतदान में हिस्सा लेने वालों सांसदों ने उन्हें इस पद बनाये रखने का निर्णय लिया। 

8. The government has launched a web portal and weather alert system for the benefit of farmers. Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh launched the Crop Insurance Portal (www.farmer.gov.in/insurance) and NOWCAST, extreme weather warning service at a function in New Delhi. The insurance portal will have essential information about National Agriculture Insurance Scheme, Modified National Insurance Scheme and Weather based Crop Insurance Scheme. Through NOWCAST service on farmer portal, farmers will get information about adverse weather via SMS.

सरकार ने किसानों के लाभ के लिए एक वेब पोर्टल और मौसम चेतावनी प्रणाली का शुभारंभ किया है। कृषि मंत्री राधा मोहन सिंह ने नई दिल्‍ली में फसल बीमा पोर्टल (www.farmer.gov.in/insurance) और मौसम चेतावनी सेवा-नाऊकास्‍ट का शुभारंभ किया। इस पोर्टल पर किसानों के लिए राष्‍ट्रीय कृषि बीमा योजना, संशोधित राष्‍ट्रीय बीमा योजना और मौसम आधारित फसल बीमा योजना के बारे में जानकारियां विशेष रूप से दी जाएंगी। किसान पोर्टल पर नाऊकास्‍ट सेवा के माध्‍यम से किसानों को एस एम एस के जरिए प्रतिकूल मौसम के बारे में जानकारी मिलेगी। 

9. Asian Football Confederation (AFC)'s General Secretary Alex Soosay resigned from the post. Soosay was associated with the organisation for the last 20 years and was employed in the regional governing body. Until a new general secretary is appointed, the Asian governing football body’s will be managed by AFC Deputy General Secretary Windsor John.

एशियाई फुटबॉल परिसंघ (एएफसी) के महासचिव एलेक्स सूसे ने पद से इस्तीफ़ा दे दिया। सूसे पिछले 20 सालों से इस संस्था से जुड़े थे तथा क्षेत्रीय शासी निकाय में कार्यरत रहे। इस पद पर नियुक्ति होने तक वर्तमान एएफसी डिप्टी जनरल सेक्रेटरी विंडसर जॉन कार्यकारी तौर पर यह पद संभालेंगे।

10. The Union Government decided to increase the number of workdays under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) from 100 days to 150 days in drought-affected areas of the country. Earlier in February 2014, previous government led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the number of workdays under MNREGA was increased from 100 days to 150 days for tribal areas who have received land rights under the Forest Rights Act, 2006.

केंद्र सरकार ने महात्मा गांधी राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण रोजगार गारंटी अधिनियम (मनरेगा) के तहत देश के सूखा प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में काम करने के दिन 100 से बढ़ाकर 150 करने का निर्णय लिया है। प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह के नेतृत्व वाली सरकार ने फरवरी 2014 में आदिवासी क्षेत्रों जिनको वन अधिकार अधिनियम, 2006 के तहत भूमि अधिकार प्राप्त हुए थे, के लिए मनरेगा के तहत कार्यदिवसों की संख्या 100 दिनों से बढ़ाकर 150 दिन कर दी थी।
