1. Travellers from across the globe have ranked Taj Mahal among the top three landmarks in the world. According to TripAdvisor's 2015 Travellers Choice Attractions Awards, Taj Mahal was ranked third in the list of top landmarks. The top two places were taken by Machu Picchu in Peru and Angkor Wat in Cambodia respectively. The Travellers' Choice Landmarks highlight some of the world's most iconic, must-see attractions that have won over the TripAdvisor community.

दुनिया भर के पर्यटकों ने विश्व के तीन शीर्ष ऐतिहासिक स्थलों में ताजमहल को शामिल किया है। ट्रिप एडवाइजर के 2015 ट्रैवलर्स च्वाइस अटरेक्शन अवार्ड्स के अनुसार शीर्ष ऐतिहासिक स्थलों की सूची में ताज महल को तीसरा स्थान मिला है। शीर्ष दो स्थलों पर क्रमश: पेरू के माचू पिचू एवं कम्बोडिया के अंगकोर वाट को रखा गया है। ट्रैवलर्स च्वाइस के ऐतिहासिक स्थलों की सूची में दुनिया के ऐसे प्रख्यात स्थल है जो ट्रिप एडवाइजर समुदाय के लिए अनिवार्य रूप से देखने वाले आकषर्ण हैं।

2. US Secretary of Defence Ashton Carter arrived in India on a three-day visit. Carter reached Visakhapatnam from where he left for Delhi. He met Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. During his visit, the two countries will be signing the Defence Framework Agreement (DFA) that will define the US-India defence cooperation over the next decade. This is Carter's first visit to India as Defence Secretary.

अमेरिकी रक्षा मंत्री एश्टन कार्टर तीन दिवसीय दौरे पर भारत पहुंचे। वे विशाखापतन होते हुए दिल्ली आए। वे भारतीय रक्षा मंत्री मनोहर पर्रीकर से मिले। इस दौरे के दौरान दोनों देशों के बीच एक उच्चस्तरीय रक्षा प्रारूप समझौते (डीएफए) पर हस्ताक्षर किए जाएंगे जो अगले दशक में अमेरिका-भारत रक्षा सहयोग को परिभाषित करेगा। यह रक्षा सचिव के रूप में कार्टर की पहली भारत यात्रा है।

3. Sepp Blatter has resigned as President of FIFA in a stunning capitulation to critics as a mounting corruption scandal engulfs world football's governing body. The 79-year-old Swiss official, FIFA president for 17 years was re-elected for fifth term on 29 May 2015. In his resignation speech, Blatter admitted no wrongdoing, and says he's resigned for the good of the sport.

फुटबॉल की वैश्विक संस्था पर लगातार लग रहे भ्रष्टाचार के आरोपों के बीच सेप ब्लाटर ने फीफा के अध्यक्ष पद से इस्तीफा देकर सबको चौंका दिया। स्विट्जरलैंड के 79 वर्षीय अधिकारी 17 साल से फीफा अध्यक्ष थे और 29 मई 2015 को उन्हें पांचवें कार्यकाल के लिए चुना गया था। अपने इस्तीफे की घोषणा करते हुए ब्लाटर ने कहा कि उन्होंने कोई गलत कार्य नहीं किया है, और वह खेल की भलाई के लिए इस्तीफा दे रहे हैं।

4. US President Barack Obama has signed into law landmark USA Freedom Act, forcing intelligence agencies to set up a system that will leave the telephone metadata with telecom companies rather than the government. Obama signed the bill after the Senate voted in favour of it by 67-32, significantly reversing America's most controversial surveillance program since 9/11.

ऐतिहासिक ‘यूएसए फ्रीडम एक्ट’संबंधी विधेयक पर हस्ताक्षर कर अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बराक ओबामा ने इसे एक कानून का रूप दे दिया है। यह कानून खुफिया एजेंसियों को एक ऐसी व्यवस्था स्थापित करने के लिए दबाव बनाता है, जिसके तहत टेलीफोनों से जुड़े व्यापक डाटा सरकार के पास नहीं, बल्कि दूरसंचार कंपनियों के पास रहेंगे। ओबामा ने इस विधेयक पर तब हस्ताक्षर किए जब सीनेट ने इस विधेयक के लिए 67-32 के अंतर से मतदान किया था। इसके साथ ही 9/11 हमले के बाद अमेरिका में बने सबसे विवादास्पद निगरानी कार्यक्रम को पलट दिया गया।

5. The central government has made major changes in the bureaucracy. Gujarat cadre IAS officer from the 1981 batch, Rita A. Teaotia, has been appointed as the new commerce secretary after Rajeev Kher retires this month. Pradeep Kumar Pujari has been appointed the new power secretary in place of P.K. Sinha.

केंद्र सरकार ने शीर्ष नौकरशाही में बड़े बदलाव किए हैं। इसके तहत 1981 बैच की गुजरात कैडर की आईएएस अधिकारी रीता ए. तेवतिया को नया वाणिज्य सचिव नियुक्त किया गया है। वे राजीव खेर का स्थान लेंगी जो इस माह सेवानिवृत्त हो रहे हैं। प्रदीप कुमार पुजारी को पी.के. सिन्हा के स्थान पर नया ऊर्जा सचिव नियुक्त किया गया है।

6. Former leader of Britain's Liberal Democratic Party Charles Kennedy died at his residence in Scotland. He was 55 years old.

ब्रिटेन की लिबरल डेमोक्रेटिक पार्टी के पूर्व नेता चार्ल्स केनेडी का स्कॉटलैंड स्थित उनके निवास पर निधन हो गया। वह 55 वर्ष के थे।

7. Air Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa took over as the Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS). He was commissioned in the IAF in June 1978 as a fighter pilot. Air Marshal Dhanoa has taken over as Vice Chief of the Air Staff from Air Marshal Ravi Kant Sharma, who relinquished the office after 40 years of glorious service in the IAF.

एयर मार्शल बीरेन्द्र सिंह धनोआ ने वायु सेना के उप-प्रमुख (वीसीएएस) का कार्यभार संभाला है। उन्हें जून 1978 में भारतीय वायु सेना में एक लड़ाकू पाइलट के रूप में कमीशन किया गया था। एयर मार्शल धनोआ एयर मार्शल रविकांत शर्मा के स्थान पर वायु सेना उप-प्रमुख बने हैं, जो 40 वर्ष की शानदार सेवा के बाद सेवानिवृत्त हुए हैं। 

8. The Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) in partnership with HealthPhone, Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), Government of India and UNICEF, announced the formal launch of the IAP HealthPhone programme, the world's largest digital mass education programme to tackle the challenge of malnutrition in women and children, at the national-level in India. IAP HealthPhone is a public private partnership initiative that is supported by Vodafone India. It is a unique programme that leverages the increasing penetration of mobile phones in the country to educate over 6 million girls and women between 13 and 35 years of age and their families on better health and nutrition practices by 2018.

इंडियन एकेडमी ऑफ पेडियाट्रिक्स (आईएपी) ने हेल्थफ़ोन, महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्रालय (एमडब्ल्यूसीडी), भारत सरकार और यूनिसेफ के साथ मिलकर आईएपी हेल्थफ़ोन प्रोग्राम का औपचारिक रूप से शुभारंभ किया। दुनिया के सबसे बडे डिजिटल व्यापक शिक्षा कार्यक्रम, आईएपी हेल्थफ़ोनप्रोग्राम भारत में राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर महिलाओं और बच्चों में कुपोषण की चुनौती का मुकाबला करेगा। आईएपी हेल्थफोन सार्वजनिक एवं निजी क्षेत्र की संयुक्त साझेदारी पहल है, जो वोडाफ़ोन इंडिया द्वारा समर्थित है। यह एक अनूठा प्रोग्राम है, जिसके जरिए देश में मोबाइल फोन के बढते उपयोग का प्रभावी उपयोग किया जाता है, ताकि 13 से 35 वर्ष तक की 6 मिलियन से अधिक महिलाओं व उनके परिवारों को बेहतर स्वास्थ्य एवं पोषण के तौर-तरीकों के बारे में वर्ष 2018 तक शिक्षित किया जा सके।

9. Harriette Thompson, a 92 year old became the oldest woman to finish a marathon. She achieved this fete at San Diego’s Rock 'n' Roll Marathon of 26.2 miles (42.2 kilometers) by completing the race in 7 hours, 24 minutes, 36 seconds. This was her 16th Rock 'n' Roll Marathon. With this, Harriette Thompson of Charlotte, North Carolina got her name inscribed into the record books.

92 वर्षीय हैरियेट थॉम्पसन ने मैराथन दौड़ पूरी करके विश्व रिकॉर्ड बनाया। सैन डिएगो में आयोजित रॉक 'एन' रोल मैराथन में विश्व की सबसे अधिक उम्र की महिला धावक के रूप में भाग लेकर तथा 7 घंटे 24 मिनट एवं 36 सेकंड में दौड़ पूरी करके उन्होंने यह विश्व कीर्तिमान बनाया। अमेरिका स्थित उत्तरी केरोलिना की नागरिक हैरियेट थॉम्पसन की यह 16वीं रॉक 'एन' रोल मैराथन प्रतियोगिता थी।

10. P. Kunhikrishnan was appointed as the Director of Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) with immediate effect. He succeeded M.Y.S. Prasad, who superannuated in May 2015. Before the present appointment, he was the Deputy Director at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC).

पी. कुन्हीकृष्णन को तत्काल प्रभाव से सतीश धवन अंतरिक्ष केंद्र (एसडीएससी) के निदेशक के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। उन्होंने मई 2015 में सेवानिवृत्त हुए एम.वाइ.एस. प्रसाद का स्थान लिया है। वर्तमान नियुक्ति से पहले, वह विक्रम साराभाई अंतरिक्ष केंद्र (वीएसएससी) में उप निदेशक थे।
