1. India and the US signed a new strategically important 10-year defence framework pact (2015 Framework for the India-US Defence Relationship) envisaging joint development and manufacture of defence equipment and technology including jet engines, aircraft carrier design and construction. Both sides also finalised two project agreements for hi-tech mobile power source and next generation protective suits for chemical and biological warfare. The framework agreement was inked by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and visiting US Defence Secretary Ashton Carter.

भारत और अमेरिका ने रक्षा उपकरण के सह-विकास एवं उत्पादन तथा जेट इंजन, विमान वाहक पोत डिजाइन एवं निर्माण को ध्यान में रखते हुए रणनीतिक रूप से महत्वपूर्ण 10 वर्षीय रक्षा रूपरेखा समझौते (भारत-अमेरिका रक्षा संबंध रूपरेखा 2015) पर हस्ताक्षर किया। दोनों पक्षों ने हाईटेक मोबाइल ऊर्जा सोत और रसायनिक एवं जैविक युद्ध के लिए अगली पीढ़ी के रक्षात्मक सूट के लिए दो परियोजना समझौतों को अंतिम रूप दिया। इस समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर रक्षा मंत्री मनोहर पर्रिकर और भारत की यात्रा पर आये अमेरिकी रक्षा मंत्री एश्टन कार्टर ने किया।

2. Jindal Power Limited (JPL), the sponsor company of 2400 MW power plant in Tamnar, Chattisgarh has been awarded with National Gold and Silver medal of Ministry of Power for completing the power plant in a record time. Minister of State for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal honoured the company by presenting it the award.

छत्तीसगढ़ के तमनार में 2400 मेगावाट क्षमता के बिजली संयंत्र को रिकॉर्ड समय में पूरा करने पर इसकी प्रवर्तक कंपनी जिंदल पावर लिमिटेड (जेपीएल) को ऊर्जा मंत्रालय के राष्ट्रीय स्वर्ण एवं रजत पदक से सम्मानित किया गया है। ऊर्जा, कोयला एवं नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा राज्य मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने कंपनी को ये पुरस्कार प्रदान कर सम्मानित किया।

3. Inderjeet Singh won gold medal in men's shot put event in the 21st Asian Athletics Championships. The 21st Asian Athletics Championships is being held from 3 June to 7 June 2015 at Wuhan, China. Inderjeet heaved the iron ball to a new championship record of 20.41meter, which he achieved in his fourth attempt.

इंदरजीत सिंह ने 21वीं एशियाई एथलेटिक्स चैम्पियनशिप में पुरूषों की गोलाफेंक स्पर्धा में स्वर्ण पदक जीता। 21वीं एशियाई एथलेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप को वुहान, चीन में 3 जून से 7 जून 2015 तक आयोजित किया जा रहा है। इंदरजीत ने 20.41 मीटर के चैम्पियनशिप के नए रिकार्ड, जो उन्होंने अपने चौथे प्रयास में बनाया, के साथ स्वर्ण पदक जीता। 

4. India and Belarus inked six agreements, including a Roadmap for India-Belarus Cooperation as President Pranab Mukherjee held talks with Belarusian counterpart Alexander V. Lukashenko. Besides the roadmap, the agreements include a protocol amending the agreement between the two sides for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion. A MoU was inked between Bureau of Indian Standards and Belarus' State Committee for Standardization on cooperation in the field of standardization and information support, and another MoU between Prasar Bharati and the National State Television and Radio Company of Belarus (Belteleradiocompany) for cooperation on broadcasting. Both sides also inked a MoU on cooperation between the Securities and Exchange Board of India and Belurusian ministry of finance and a MoU between India's textiles ministry and the Belarusian State Concern for Manufacturing and Marketing of Light Industry Goods 'Bellegprom'.

राष्ट्रपति प्रणब मुखर्जी ने अपनी बेलारूस यात्रा में बेलारूस के राष्ट्रपति अलेक्जेंडर वी. लुकाशेंको से मुलाकात की और इस दौरान दोनों देशों ने छह समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए। इन समझौतों में से एक दोनों देशों के बीच सहयोग बढ़ाने की कार्ययोजना है। इसके अलावा दोहरे कराधान और वित्तीय चोरी निवारण समझौते में संशोधन के एक प्रोटोकॉल पर भी हस्ताक्षर हुए। भारतीय मानक ब्यूरो और बेलारूस के स्टेट कमिटी फॉर स्टैंडर्डाइजेशन ऑन कोऑपरेशन के बीच मानकीकरण और सूचना सहयोग के एक सहमतिपत्र पर हस्ताक्षर हुए। प्रसार भारती और बेलारूस की राष्ट्रीय राज्य टेलीविजन और रेडियो कंपनी (बेल्टेलेरेडियो कंपनी) ने प्रसारण में सहयोग के लिए एक सहमति पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर किए। दोनों देशों ने भारतीय प्रतिभूति एवं विनिमय बोर्ड और बेलारूस के वित्त मंत्रालय के बीच सहयोग तथा भारत के कपड़ा मंत्रालय और बेलारूस के प्रकाश उद्योग के उत्पादों के विनिर्माण और विपणन से संबंधित इकाई बेलेगप्रॉम ने भी एक सहमति पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर किए। 

5. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) entered into an agreement with the French Football Federation (FFF) to seek technical expertise for further development of the sport in the country. AIFF President Praful Patel signed an agreement with the FFF to begin the partnership. The AIFF had earlier signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Japan Football Association and the German Football Association to improve the poor football standards in the country.

अखिल भारतीय फुटबाल महासंघ (एआईएफएफ) ने तकनीकी विशेषज्ञता प्राप्त करने और खेल के विकास के लिए फ्रांस फुटबाल महासंघ (एफएफएफ) के साथ एक करार किया। एआईएफएफ के अध्यक्ष प्रफुल्ल पटेल ने समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर कर दोनों खेल संघों के बीच यह साझेदारी शुरू की। एआईएफएफ इससे पहले देश में फुटबॉल की खराब हालत में सुधार के लिए जापान फुटबॉल संघ और जर्मनी फुटबॉल संघ के साथ समझौते कर चुका है। 

6. The Department of Post (DoP) or India Post has signed a deal with CMS Info Systems, a cash management and payments solutions company, to personalise over 15 million debit cards for its savings account holders. The deal, valued at Rs. 30 crore, was estimated to be completed in three years. At present, the DoP covers a base of around 100 million account holders in India and is in the midst of a phased deployment of ATMs across the country to serve its customers better. India Post has given CMS Info Systems a contract to supply RuPay card.

डाक विभाग ने नकदी प्रबंधन और भुगतान समाधान कंपनी सीएमएस इंफो सिस्टम्स के साथ एक समझौता किया है, जिसके तहत 1.5 करोड़ भारतीय डाक बचत खाताधारकों के लिए डेबिट कार्ड तैयार किए जाएंगे। ठेके का मूल्य 30 करोड़ रुपये है और इसकी पूर्णता अवधि तीन साल है। देश में भारतीय डाक खाता धारकों की कुल संख्या अभी करीब 10 करोड़ है और यह पूरे देश में एटीएम लगा रहा है। भारतीय डाक ने सीएमएस इंफो सिस्टम्स को रुपे कार्ड की आपूर्ति करने का ठेका दिया है।

7. Three Indian companies, Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has found place in the Forbes list of world's 60 largest telecommunications companies. Besides this Vodafone which has a big business in India has been placed in the category of British company and is ranked fourth in the list. Bharti Airtel has been ranked 28th in the list. The third Indian company MTNL is ranked 56th. China's state-owned telecommunications service provider company China Mobile is ranked first in the list, while second and third place has been acquired by America's Verizon Communications and AT&T respectively.

दुनिया की 60 सबसे बड़ी दूरसंचार कंपनियों की फोर्ब्स की सूची में तीन भारतीय कंपनियों, भारती एयरटेल, आइडिया सेल्युलर तथा महानगर टेलीफोन निगम लिमिटेड (एमटीएनएल) को जगह मिली है। इसके अलावा भारत में बड़े पैमाने पर कारोबार करने वाली कंपनी वोडाफोन को ब्रिटिश कंपनी की श्रेणी में रखा गया है और सूची में चौथी जगह दी गई है। भारती एयरटेल को सूची में 28वीं जगह दी गई है। तीसरी भारतीय कंपनी एमटीएनएल को 56वां स्थान दिया गया है। चीन की सरकारी दूरसंचार सेवा प्रदाता कंपनी चाइना मोबाइल को सूची में शीर्ष जगह दी गई है जबकि दूसरे और तीसरे स्थान पर क्रमश: अमरीका की वेरिजोन कम्युनिकेशंस और एटीएंडटी है।

8. American Nobel laureate Irwin Rose, a biochemist whose groundbreaking work helped in the development of treatments for cervical cancer and cystic fibrosis, died. He was 88. Rose won the 2004 Nobel Prize in chemistry, along with Israel Institute of Technology researchers Aaron Ciechanover and Avram Hershko, for research into how cells break down and dispose of old and damaged proteins in plants and animals.

नोबेल विजेता अमेरिकी रसायनशास्त्री इरविन रोज़ का निधन हो गया है। वह 88 वर्ष के थे। उन्होंने सर्विकल कैंसर और सिस्टिक फाइब्रोसिस के इलाज के विकास में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया था। रोज़ को 2004 में इजरायल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी के शोधार्थी आरोन सिचोनओवर और अवराम हेरशको के साथ रसायन शास्त्र का नोबेल दिया गया था। उन्होंने पशुओं और पेड़ पौधों में कोशिकाओं के टूटने की प्रक्रिया और पुराने व क्षतिग्रस्त प्रोटीन के निपटान पर शोध किया था।

9. The US and Vietnam signed a defence agreement. This agreement will grow the military relationship between the two nations and will eventually lead to co-production of military equipment. The Joint Vision Statement on Defence Relations was signed at a ceremony by US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter and Vietnamese Defence Minister Gen. Phung Quang Thanh.

अमेरिका और वियतनाम ने एक रक्षा समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए। यह समझौता दोनों देशों के बीच सैन्य संबंध विकसित करेगा और अंततः इससे सैन्य उपकरणों के सह-उत्पादन को बढ़ावा मिलेगा। रक्षा संबंधों पर ज्वाइंट विजन स्टेटमेंट पर अमेरिकी रक्षा मंत्री ऐशटन कार्टर और वियतनाम के रक्षा मंत्री जनरल फुंग कुआंग थान द्वारा एक समारोह में हस्ताक्षर किए गए।

10. Uttarakhand’s Medical, Health and Family Welfare Minister Surendra Singh Negi was conferred with the World No Tobacco Day Award 2015 by the World Health Organsiation (WHO). Health minister has been awarded by WHO for initiating campaign against tobacco products and narcotics in the state. He was one of the six awardees from the WHO South-East Asia Region.

उत्तराखंड के चिकित्सा, स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्री सुरेंद्र सिंह नेगी को विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) ने विश्व तम्बाकू निषेध दिवस पुरस्कार 2015 से सम्मानित किया है। डब्ल्यूएचओ ने स्वास्थ्य मंत्री को राज्य में तंबाकू उत्पादों व नशीले पदार्थो के विरुद्ध अभियान चलाने के लिए सम्मानित किया है। वे दक्षिण-पूर्व एशिया क्षेत्र से छह पुरस्कार विजेताओं में से एक थे।
