Sometimes, so-called celebrities are under the assumption that everything they think, say, write is interesting to other people. Sometimes, they’re right. Here are 7 celebrity blogs worth checking out.

Mara Wilson – Mara Wilson isn’t a celebrity anymore but that’s part of the point of her blog. Wilson was the child star of Matilda, Miracle of 34th Street and Mrs. Doubtfire. These days, the 26-year-old is a writer who has no interest in film acting. She blogs about family, friends, and life in general. She’s also written a now viral article about why many child actors go off the deep end. This blog is a good read is your like reading.

Katy Perry – If you have a slight to high interest in Katy Perry, you might find her Tumbler fun to visit. The pop star posts pictures from tours as well as videos and photos she finds amusing. This blog is good if you don’t like reading.

Roger Ebert - Yes, it’s true that Ebert has left us for a bigger screen in the sky but his blog still stands as proof of his intellect, depth, and genuine goodness. When Ebert wasn’t watching and writing about movies, he was sometimes writing on his online journal. The topics range from stories from his childhood, religion, politics, and news stories.  Each post Ebert shared had purpose. In another words, no fluff here.

Mindy Kaling – Speaking of fluff, Mindy Kaling blogs. Kaling (writer/actor from The Office and The Mindy Project) writes about whatever she’s thinking about at the moment whether it be about her job, heart-shaped pans, or pillows. If you liked her book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?(And Other Concerns) you’ll probably enjoy her blog. You’ll notice that the blog is outdated, (The project was probably meant to market her book when it came out) but you can find similar fluff on her show’s blog, themindyprojectstyle.com, where all the eye-catching clothes from the show are posted along with where you can find them.

Eric Idol – For those who long for more of Monty Python’s Flying Circus, Eric Idol keeps an active blog on his own website. The writer/actor/singer/songwriter posts a new blog post about 2-3 times a month. Posts will give readers a smile. Idol writes about his daily doings as well as shares project stories from the past. He also posts Shel Sliverstein-esque poetry.

Margaret Cho – The always brassy, Margaret Cho has a blog that she posts about once a month. She writes about playing guitar, her pets, and her love of all things funny. Sometimes she’s posts something as simple as a picture or video, other times she will write about things more important to her like gay rights or her mom.

Roseanne Barr – If you have an interest in politics, you have something in common with actresses/writer/comedienne/director Roseanne Barr. The star of the show Roseanne regularly blogs on her site Roseanne World. Barr posts open letters to politicians, videos of speeches she has given at events, and writes articles about all the big world issues. Her articles are intelligent and opinionated. Would you expect anything less from her?
