1. Just 4.6% of all rural households in the country pay income tax while such households with salaried income are close to 10%, the first Socio-Economic and Caste Census released in eight decades said. According to the Socio-Economic and Caste Census 2011 the percentage of Scheduled Caste (SC) households paying income tax was 3.49% while Scheduled Tribe (ST) tax-paying rural households were mere 3.34%. 

देश के सिर्फ 4.6% ग्रामीण परिवार आयकर का भुगतान करते हैं जबकि ऐसे वेतनभोगी ग्रामीण परिवारों की संख्या 10% है। यह बात पिछले आठ दशक में पहली बार जारी सामाजिक, आर्थिक और जाति जनगणना में कही गई। सामाजिक, आर्थिक एवं जाति जनगणना 2011 के अनुसार आयकर देने वाले अनुसूचित जाति (एससी) के परिवारों की संख्या 3.49% है जबकि अनुसूचित जनजाति (एसटी) के ऐसे परिवारों की संख्या मात्र 3.34% है।

2. The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, or UNESCO, inducted the Old City of Sana’a to the list of World Heritage in danger due to the “serious damage” done amid clashes between Shiite Houthi rebels and pro-government forces in Yemen. The decision was made during the 39th session of the World Heritage Committee in Bonn, Germany, while the Old Walled City of Shibam in Yemen and the ancient Iraqi city of Hatra were also added to the list.

संयुक्त राष्ट्र शैक्षणिक, वैज्ञानिक एवं सांस्कृतिक संगठन (यूनेस्को) ने यमन की 'ओल्ड सिटी ऑफ सना' को संकटग्रस्त विश्व विरासत स्थल की सूची में शामिल किया है। यमन में हौती विद्रोहियों और सरकार समर्थित सुरक्षाबलों के बीच संघर्ष के कारण यहां भारी नुकसान हुआ है, जिसे देखते हुए यूनेस्को ने यह कदम उठाया है। जर्मनी के बॉन शहर में विश्व विरासत समिति के 39वें सत्र में यह निर्णय लिया गया। इसके साथ ही यमन के 'ओल्ड वाल्ड सिटी ऑफ शिबम' और इराकी शहर हत्रा को भी इस सूची में शामिल किया गया है।

3. Mobile Number Portability (MNP) has been launched across the country on 3rd July 2015. With the launch of nationwide MNP, mobile users can retain their numbers despite changing states/circles across the country, without incurring any roaming charges. Telecom operators such as Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular, Uninor, MTS, Reliance Communications, Videocon Telecom, BSNL and MTNL have already announced the launch of full MNP.

मोबाइल नंबर पोर्टेबिलिटी (एमएनपी) का 3 जुलाई 2015 को देश भर में शुभारंभ हो गया है। इसके तहत मोबाइल फोन उपभोक्ता को दूसरे राज्य या दूरसंचार सर्किल में जाने पर न तो वहां का मोबाइल नंबर लेना होगा और न ही रोमिंग शुल्क चुकाना होगा। उपभोक्ता देश भर में कहीं भी चले जाएं, उनका नंबर वही रहेगा। सभी दूरसंचार ऑपरेटरों-भारती एयरटेल, वोडाफोन, आइडिया सेल्युलर, यूनिनॉर, एमटीएस, रिलायंस कम्युनिकेशंस, वीडियोकॉन टेलीकॉम और बीएसएनएल एवं एमटीएनएल ने देश भर में एमएनपी शुरू करने की घोषणा कर दी है। 

4. According to the data released by World Bank in Washington the size of Indian economy stood at $2.06 trillion at the end of 2014. It has almost doubled in size since the financial crisis hit the country in 2008, and has more than quadrupled from the start of this millennium. India’s growth rate, at 7.4% in 2014, makes it the fastest growing major economy along with China’s.

वाशिंगटन में विश्व बैंक द्वारा जारी आंकड़ों के अनुसार वर्ष 2014 के अंत में भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था का कुल आकार 2.06 खरब डॉलर था। भारत में वर्ष 2008 में आए आर्थिक संकट के बाद से अर्थव्यवस्था का आकार दोगुना हो चुका है जबकि इस सहस्त्राब्दि की शुरूआत से इसका आकार चार गुना हो गया है। वर्ष 2014 के दौरान भारत की आर्थिक प्रगति की रफ्तार 7.4% थी जोकि भारत को चीन के साथ विश्व की प्रमुख अर्थव्यवस्थाओं में सबसे तेजी से वृद्धि करने वाली अर्थव्यवस्था बनाती है। 

5. Partaking in 'Digital India' week, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal launched the state Portal ePMS (Electronic Projects Management System) to fast track infrastructural development. The project was kicked off to enhance efficiency, bring transparency, boost the investor confidence, revive the investment cycle, eliminate the human interaction and improve the communication between industries to Government (B2G), State to Centre (G2G), or vice versa (G2B).

डिजिटल इंडिया सप्ताह में अपनी हिस्सेदारी निभाते हुए पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री प्रकाश सिंह बादल ने ढांचागत विकास में तेजी लाने के लिए राज्य पोर्टल ई पीएमएस (इलेक्ट्रानिक प्रोजेक्टस मैनेजमेंट सिस्टम) का शुभारंभ किया। यह परियोजना कार्यकुशलता बढ़ाने, पारदर्शिता लाने, निवेशक का विश्वास बढ़ाने, निवेश चक्र को पुनर्जिवित करने, मानवीय संवाद को समाप्त करने और उद्योग से सरकार (बी2जी) के बीच, राज्य से केन्द्र (जी2जी) या इसके उलट (जी2बी) के बीच संपर्क को बेहतर बनाने के लिए शुरू की गई है।

6. Indian-American Professor R. Paul Singh has been named as the 2015 Global Confederation for Higher Education Associations for Agriculture and Life Sciences ‘World Agriculture Prize’ laureate. The award will be formally presented on September 20, during a ceremony at Nanjing Agricultural University, Jiangsu Province, China.

भारतीय अमेरिकी प्रोफेसर आर. पॉल. सिंह 2015 ग्लोबल कॉन्फेडरेशन फॉर हायर एजुकेशन अस्सोसिएशंन फॉर एग्रीकल्चर एण्ड लाइफ साइंसेज के ‘वर्ल्ड एग्रीकल्चर प्राइज’ के लिए नामित किए गए हैं। चीन के ज्यांग्सू प्रांत की नानजिंग एग्रीकल्चर यूनिवर्सिटी में एक समारोह के दौरान 20 सितंबर को पुस्कार औपचारिक रूप से प्रदान किया जाएगा। 

7. The World Bank announced to provide $650 million loan for a major project of Indian Railways, the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor project. Construction of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor will help speed up the carrying of goods between Ludhiana in the west of India and Kolkata in the east. This huge project will span 1,840 kms (1,140 miles) across the North India. The loan is the third from the World Bank to help fund the freight corridor. 

विश्व बैंक ने भारतीय रेलवे की एक प्रमुख परियोजना, ईस्टर्न डैडिकेटेड फ्रेट कॉरिडोर के लिए 650 मिलियन डॉलर का ऋण प्रदान करने की घोषणा की। ईस्टर्न डैडिकेटेड फ्रेट कॉरिडोर परियोजना का निर्माण भारत के पश्चिम में लुधियाना और पूर्व में कोलकाता के बीच माल की आवाजाही में तेजी लाने में मदद करेगा। यह 1,840 किमी. (1,140 मील) लम्बी परियोजना पूरे उत्तर भारत में फैली होगी। इस परियोजना के लिए यह विश्व बैंक द्वारा दी जा रही तीसरी ऋण किश्त है।

8. The Union Cabinet approved the institutional framework for the National Skill Development Mission 2015. The Mission will provide a strong institutional framework at the Centre and States for implementation of skilling activities in the country. The Union Cabinet also gave its approval for a new scheme called Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY). The Yojana was approved with an outlay of 50,000 crore rupees over a period of five years (2015-16 to 2019-20). Its aim is provide convergence to existing schemes of water management, thus bringing efficiency to the use of water.

केन्द्रीय मंत्रिमण्डल ने राष्ट्रीय कौशल विकास मिशन 2015 को संस्थागत ढांचा प्रदान करने के लिए मंजूरी दी। मिशन देश में कौशल गतिविधियों के कार्यान्वयन के लिए केंद्र और राज्य स्तर पर सुदृढ़ संस्थागत ढांचा प्रदान करेगा। केन्द्रीय मंत्रिमण्डल ने एक नई योजना प्रधानमंत्री कृषि सिंचाई योजना (पीएमकेएसवाई) को भी मंजूरी प्रदान की। इसके तहत पांच वर्षों (2015-16 से 2019-20) के लिए 50,000 करोड़ रुपये की राशि का प्रावधान किया गया है। इसका मुख्य उद्देश्य सिंचाई में निवेश में एकरूपता लाकर पानी के उपयोग में दक्षता लाना है।

9. A woman assistant subinspector (ASI) of Rajasthan Police Athletics Team Sapna, who represented Indian police team won a gold medal in the 5 km race walk event in the World Police Games 2015, held in Virginia, USA. Sapna completed the event in 26.14 minutes, which is a new police games record. 

राजस्थान पुलिस एथलेटिक्स टीम की एक महिला सहायक सब इंस्‍पेक्‍टर (एएसआई) सपना ने अमेरिका के वर्जिनिया में आयोजित हुए वर्ल्ड पुलिस गेम्स 2015 में भारतीय पुलिस टीम का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हुए 5 किलोमीटर रेस वॉक ईवेंट में स्वर्ण पदक जीता। सपना ने 26.14 मिनट में यह रेस वॉक पूर्ण कर वर्ल्ड पुलिस गेम्स का नया रिकॉर्ड स्थापित किया है। 

10. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar launched a new automation software, ARPAN 3.0 for the over 12 lakh soldiers of the Indian Army which would provide them easy access to their service records including pay and leave details and transfer and postings among others. The roll out of ARPAN 3.0 (Army Record Office Process Automation 3.0) is aimed at digitisation of Indian Army's 45 Record Offices pan India in one year time.

रक्षा मंत्री मनोहर पर्रिकर ने भारतीय थलसेना के 12 लाख से अधिक सैनिकों के लिए नया आटोमेशन साफ्टवेयर ‘अर्पण 3.0’ शुरू किया। इस सॉफ्टवेयर से सैनिकों को वेतन, छुट्टियों की जानकारी, तबादले तथा तैनाती सहित सेवा रिकार्ड से जुड़ी कई जानकारियां मिल सकेंगी। ‘अर्पण 3.0’ (आर्मी रिकॉर्ड ऑफिस प्रोसेस आटोमेशन 3.0) का उददेश्य एक साल में भारत भर में फैले भारतीय सेना के 45 रिकॉर्ड कार्यालयों का डिजिटलीकरण करना है।
