1. On the first leg of his visit to Central Asian countries and Russia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Uzbekistan. He held talks with Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov on key bilateral and regional issues including the situation in Afghanistan. India and Uzbekistan inked 3 pacts to boost cooperation between their foreign offices and in the field of culture and tourism. 

मध्य एशिया और रूस की यात्रा के पहले दौर में प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी उजबेकिस्तान पहुंचे। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने उजबेकिस्तान के राष्ट्रपति इस्लाम करीमोव से अफगानिस्तान की स्थिति सहित प्रमुख द्विपक्षीय और क्षेत्रीय मुद्दों पर बातचीत की। भारत और उजबेकिस्‍तान ने आपसी सहयोग के 3 समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए, जिनमें विदेश कार्यालय, संस्कृति और पर्यटन के क्षेत्र में सहयोग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए समझौते शामिल हैं। 

2. Euclid Tsakalotos, the deputy foreign minister of international economic affairs and chief coordinator of the country's negotiating team over the debt deal with lenders, has been appointed as new Finance Minister of Greece after Yanis Varoufakis resigned from the post because Greek voters delivered an overwhelming "No" vote in a referendum on whether to accept more austerity measures in return for new bailout cash.

अंतरराष्ट्रीय आर्थिक मामलों के उप विदेश मंत्री तथा उधारदाताओं के साथ ऋण समझौते पर देश की वार्ता की टीम के मुख्य समन्वयक यूक्लिड तसाकालोटोस, को ग्रीस के नए वित्त मंत्री के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। उन्होंने यानिस वारूफाकिस का स्थान लिया है जिन्होंने पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया था क्योंकि ग्रीस में हुए जनमत संग्रह में मतदाताओं ने कर्ज से निपटने के लिए खर्चों में कमी के विरोध में निर्णय लिया था। 

3. Latest UNICEF data showed that both child stunting and the number of underweight children in India had fallen to a historic low for 2013-14. According to the Rapid Survey on Children (RSOC) conducted by the UNICEF, the Indian 4 states--Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Uttarakhand and Tripura have successfully reduced the proportion of underweight adolescent girls. Uttar Pradesh accounts for more than 50% of the children under the age of five years who are underdeveloped.

यूनिसेफ द्वारा किए गए एक नवीनतम सर्वे के अनुसार हाल के वर्षों में भारत में बच्चों के कम कद तथा कम वजन की समस्या में काफी गिरावट दर्ज की गई है। यूनिसेफ द्वारा इस सम्बन्ध में आयोजित रैपिड सर्वे ऑन चिल्ड्रन (आरएसओसी) के अनुसार भारत के 4 राज्य, तमिलनाडु, पश्चिम बंगाल, उत्तराखण्ड और त्रिपुरा ने कम वजन वाली किशोर बालिकाओं का अनुपात कम करने में सफलता हासिल की है। उत्तर प्रदेश में पाँच वर्ष की आयु तक कम-विकसित बच्चों की संख्या 50% से अधिक है।

4. India has won a record 156 medals, including 89 gold and 50 silvers, in the World Police and Fire games held in the suburb of the American Capital. Topping this tally on medal haul was Richa Mishra from Central Reserve Police Force, who won six golds and two silvers in swimming events. This is for the first time that the Indian contingent's medal tally has crossed 100.

भारत ने अमेरिकी राजधानी के उपनगर में आयोजित हुए विश्व पुलिस और फायर खेलों में, 89 स्वर्ण और 50 रजत सहित रिकार्ड 156 पदक जीते। इस पदक तालिका में शीर्ष पर केंद्रीय रिजर्व पुलिस बल से ऋचा मिश्रा हैं जिन्होंने तैराकी स्पर्धाओं में छह स्वर्ण और दो रजत पदक जीते। यह पहली बार है कि भारतीय दल की पदक तालिका 100 पदकों की संख्या को पार कर गयी है। 

5. Aseel Shaheen (Kuwait) made history by becoming the first-ever Arab woman to officiate at Wimbledon Tennis Tournament 2015. Wimbledon tennis tournament is a traditional competition organised by All England Club, which primarily houses British match officials. She is a line judge and is one of around 350 men and women officiating at Wimbledon 2015. 

असील शाहीन (कुवैत) ने विम्बल्डन टेनिस टूर्नामेंट 2015 में आधिकारिक जिम्मेदारी निभाने वाली पहली अरबी महिला बनकर इतिहास रच दिया। ऑल इंग्लैण्ड क्लब द्वारा आयोजित इस बेहद परंपरावादी प्रतियोगिता में अब तक अधिकांशत: ब्रिटिश लोग ही अधिकारी की भूमिका निभाते आए हैं। असील शाहीन एक लाइन जज हैं तथा इस प्रतियोगिता में योगदान दे रहे लगभग 350 अधिकारियों (पुरुषों और महिलाओं) में से एक हैं।

6. Fiji broke the record for the biggest win in international football with a 38-0 victory over Micronesia. This match was played under Pacific Games 2015. Fiji trounced the Federated States of Micronesia by 38-0 to break Australia’s long standing record of 31-0 against American Samoa. That win came way back in 2001 during an Oceania confederation qualifier for the 2002 World Cup. 

फिजी ने माइक्रोनेशिया को 38-0 से हराकर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फुटबॉल में सबसे अधिक अंतर से जीत का नया कीर्तिमान स्थापित किया। पैसिफिक खेल 2015 के तहत फिजी और माइक्रोनेशिया के बीच हुए इस मैच में फिजी ने उसे 38-0 के भारी अंतर से हराया। इससे पहले किसी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फुटबॉल मैच में सबसे अधिक गोल से जीत दर्ज करने का रिकॉर्ड ऑस्ट्रेलिया के नाम था जिसने वर्ष 2002 के विश्व कप क्वालिफाइंग मैच में वर्ष 2001 में अमेरिकी समोआ की टीम को 31-0 से हराया था।

7. Japan committed 6.1 billion US dollars (750 billion Japanese Yen) in Official Development Assistance (ODA) to Mekong Region countries for the next three years. The decision was taken by Japan during the 7th Mekong-Japan Summit held in Tokyo. The decision to provide the development aid to Mekong countries was taken in line with the Development Cooperation Charter approved by the Japan’s Cabinet in February 2015. The Mekong region countries include Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.

जापान ने आगामी 3 वर्षों के भीतर आधिकारिक विकास सहायता (ओडीए) में मेकांग देशों को 6.1 बिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर (750 अरब येन) की आर्थिक मदद देने का वादा किया। टोक्यो में आयोजित 7वें मेकांग-जापान शिखर सम्मेलन में जापान द्वारा यह निर्णय लिया गया। मेकांग देशों के लिए विकास सहायता प्रदान करने का निर्णय फ़रवरी 2015 में जापान की कैबिनेट द्वारा अनुमोदित विकास सहयोग चार्टर के अनुसरण में लिया गया। मेकांग क्षेत्र के देशों में कंबोडिया, लाओस, म्यांमार, थाईलैंड और वियतनाम शामिल हैं।

8. Taking a step towards digitalisation, Union Bank of India launched a slew of initiatives such as IMPS at branches and M-passbooks for its customers. The bank has become the first lender to launch immediate payment service (IMPS) through branches for its retail and corporate customers by integrating the platform to its core banking solution. This will allow customers to instantly transfer funds to any account from the branch. The limit has been set at up to Rs. 2 lakh per day. The digital passbook or M-passbook feature will enable customers to view account statement on mobile.

डिजिटलीकरण की तरफ अग्रसर होते हुए यूनियन बैंक ने शाखाओं पर आईएमपीएस और अपने ग्राहकों के लिए एम-पासबुक जैसी कई पहल शुरू की हैं। बैंक अपने कोर बैंकिंग समाधान के लिए मंच को एकीकृत करके अपने खुदरा और कॉर्पोरेट ग्राहकों के लिए शाखाओं के माध्यम से तत्काल भुगतान सेवा (आईएमपीएस) शुरू करने वाला पहला ऋणदाता बन गया है। इसके तहत बैंक के ग्राहक किसी भी शाखा से किसी भी खाते में आईएमपीएस के जरिये रुपये तुरंत ट्रांसफर कर सकते हैं। इसकी सीमा प्रतिदिन 2 लाख रुपये तक निर्धारित की गयी है। डिजिटल पासबुक या एम-पासबुक सुविधा के माध्यम से ग्राहक मोबाइल पर खाते का विवरण देख सकेंगे।

9. Renowned American Actress Amanda Peterson, whose most famous role was in the 1987 romantic comedy “Can't Buy Me Love”, has died at age of 43. She died because of heart attack.

प्रख्यात अमेरिकी अभिनेत्री अमांडा पीटरसन का 43 वर्ष की आयु में दिल का दौरा पड़ने से निधन हो गया। उन्हें 1987 में आई रोमांटिक कॉमेडी फिल्म "कांट बाय मी लव" में उनके प्रसिद्ध अभिनय के लिए जाना जाता है।
