Udta Punjab is an upcoming thriller film, which will be directed by Abhishek Chaubey. The film shooting is held on AmritsarPreviously there were rumours that the ex-lovers Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan will be featuring as main leads in the film. But now the gossips are broken out and the lead actress has been decided. The cute little stunning lady Alia Bhatt is once again casted opposite Shahid in Udta Punjab.

Story/Plot

The movie will revolve at the increasing problem of drug abuse in Punjab. Previously Priyanka Chopra turned boxer in Mary Kom and Parineeti Chopra played golf in Kill Dil. Now it's Alia's turn to play the role of a hokey player in her next Udta Punjab. She is working hard to pull it off as a professional. Director revealed that, the film is set in Punjab and deals with the serious issues of drug abuse in the state.

Actors Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will be seen together once again after Shandaar movie. Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen romancing Punjabi heart-throb Diljit Dosanj in the film. Alia Bhatt to be seen as professional Hockey player she is doing a lot of background work. As per the source, "Alia has been regularly going for hokey training for about two hours in the morning. She has been doing so for over two weeks now". Shahid kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan will also be seen essaying pivotal roles in the film.
